Hi. This is for another location of Effy's Cafe which doesn't seem to be listed on Trip Advisor. The website lists both so maybe the owner may find this helpful: I was very excited when this place finally opened after a long renovation period. Its in my building so you can see why! I ordered from this location many times... More

Food was yummy- we ordered the following: Middle eastern breakfast Skakshuka Both HUGE and yummy The hummus isn't made there but still good. All foodies good. Went to Israel recently and had homemade Hummus so I always compare. This place chose good hummus. Very family oriented. Good food... More

There are liberal power outlets, there's free internet, script writers frowning with concentration and cartoonists sketching on story boards. How much more New York does it get? Well a local astrologer writes her magazine column here too... It's squeezy but never feels cramped. There's a real conviviality and patent politesse as someone excuses himself while diving between your feet to... More

I was charged $9.20 for a turkey wrap with lettuce and tomato plus hummus. Nothing special and nothing exotic. $2 just for the hummus which I could buy an entire container for. I am extremely upset at this highway robbery and I will never eat here again.

Effy's is a comfortable little place to go and plop yourself down for a light meal or snack. It's a block east of the 92 St Y and I look forward to visiting the Y's speaker series several times a year knowing that I'm going to give myself time to stop in at Effy's. Last night I had a chicken... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
