We went to Bistro Chat Noir for the second time. Food was just okay and service was not that great. There are many better restaurants.

One wouldn't expect to find this great little restaurant tucked away in the brownstone area of NYC (Upper East Side), but it was amazing. First, we had drinks on the patio outside--yes, they have outdoor seating!--and then went inside for a terrific dinner. We let the chef make the food and wine decisions for us, and everything we tried was... More

Excellent steak tartare, French rose, attentive service, outdoor seating, what more could one ask? We all enjoyed a sunny Sunday brunch. My husband loved his carrot ginger soup and everyone thought the eggs benedict were well done. We will definitely be back.

I love this golf course. Not easy but friendly atmosphere. First 9 winds round ending up near the clubhouse, so easy for bathroom stop, beer and a sandwich to carry you through the rest of the round. Everyone we met were friendly to us Brits. Have played this course before, a few years ago and just as I remember it.... More

Le Chat Noir has been one of my Fav restaurants in UES. The decor is sober chic and classic, and their outdoor space a must! You need to get there early if you want to seat outside, for sure. No matter if you go for business, for leisure, with friends, colleagues, family or by yourself, it will be a wonderful... More

I just want to say this is review is a long time coming we visited this beautiful restaurant in February 2014 for our 4 year anniversary while we were on holidays, now I don't give reviews like this lightly but it was hands down one of the best customer service experiences I have ever had in my life. Our concierge... More

I ate there two weeks ago for a business lunch. It was in the middle of the week, and I anticipated a great meal. However, the service and the food are not worth the money spent. The place is very popular with very wealthy neighborhood people, but the lunch menu was limited, and the service was mediocre at best. The... More

We are half French and looked forward to eat a treat while in Central Park. Brunch here was not great. We expected a better menu. I ended up getting the gazpacho, my husband the benedict eggs. That's it. Nothing French actually. Food was OK, nothing exceptional. Staff is very nice and gentle, really. Bummer.

We stopped in for brunch with the family. We had the eggs Benedict, French toast, chicken salad and chocolate soufflé - all were delicious and the service was excellent!

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
