Great little bistro

Went for dinner on a Sunday evening. On that particular evening there was an older crowd in the restaurant. It was also quite quiet. Went there with my young kids which the staff actually seemed to appreciate. Its a tiny restaurant and very classic and pretty. The service was wonderful, and... read more

I ate there two weeks ago for a business lunch. It was in the middle of the week, and I anticipated a great meal. However, the service and the food are not worth the money spent. The place is very popular with very wealthy neighborhood people, but the lunch menu was limited, and the service was mediocre at best. The... More

We are half French and looked forward to eat a treat while in Central Park. Brunch here was not great. We expected a better menu. I ended up getting the gazpacho, my husband the benedict eggs. That's it. Nothing French actually. Food was OK, nothing exceptional. Staff is very nice and gentle, really. Bummer.

We stopped in for brunch with the family. We had the eggs Benedict, French toast, chicken salad and chocolate soufflé - all were delicious and the service was excellent!

Our Concierge recommended this restaurant as we had frequently been to the owner's previous restaurant on Madison and loved it. Le Chat Noir is just as good, an ideal French bistro in New York. There is a small outside eating area and a larger interior. It is wise to book as it is a very popular local Upper East Side... More

A very compact yet comprehensive menu, lots of fresh sea food, a small but solid wine list and extremely friendly service make this a classic, comfortable restaurant that is somewhat anonymous but delivers high-quality service and food in that neighborhood.

I happened on this Bistro last summer during my travels to NYC . Due to schedule issues I was unable to dine there. During this most recent trip in May we made it a point to have lunch there after our visit to the Guggenheim museum. This bistro is quaint but the menu and service is top notch. We opted... More

This was the perfect place to take my daughter before the ballet. We were both charmed by the ambiance: sophisticated and classic yet contemporary. The beautiful roses on the table were the perfect touch. The food was excellent. I had the chicken chopped salad and couldn't have been more pleased. The chicken was moist, tender and flavorful and the greens... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
