A Two In Front of Cocktail Price?

First the positives. The food is terrific. The house salad gets you started right, and is shareable. My roast duck was succulent. My partner's Bronzino was just as good. The mango sorbet will pucker up your lips. Prices for which were all reasonable. I like the Parisian yellow walls. The Madison... read more

Found this place on Trip Advisor after visiting La Duree. Cozy, quaint and inviting! Cheese Soufflé was magnificent as well as the coque a vin. I will definitely return.

I have become a big fan of Chat Noir over the past couple of years, I continuously experience a high level of consistency in food quality and service that is hard to replicate. I have learned that many guests are regulars and like myself, feel that Chat Noir is a real find in NYC. By far my favorite place to... More

This really could not have been better. The normally terrific food at Bistro Chat Noir was complemented by a New Year's Eve cabaret show which was delightful, in good taste, and great fun. We'll probably go back next year.

We were wandering around looking for somewhere for an early dinner & stumbled across this bistro. We were given a warm welcome by the friendly staff & were soon given menus. We had some delicious cocktails & wine. The French onion soup was delicious & I had the roasted red beets which was lovely. Portion sizes were good & my... More

This is a fantastic place to have lunch. Great burgers, macaroni cheese with Lobster and a little mis en Bouche. Not too pricy either considering the quality of food, service etc.

We waited over an hour for lunch, food was good not great, certainly not worth the wait. It appears if you are not a local and/or regular your order goes to the back of the line. Too bad, I had high hopes!

Wonderful warm and friendly neighborhood bistro. Great atmosphere with professional staff. Julian mixes a great drink at the bar. Food is really good and well presented. Try the seafood risotto, it's very good. They have an extensive, well priced wine list, so even if you only go for a glass of wine, you will never be disappointed.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
