I had lunch yesterday with family and forgot how charming this restaurant can be. It is small and intimate and quite relaxed. The food is fresh and the menu has many choices. I had the chicken salad which was made with spinach and was very good. The fresh fruit plate was really fresh fruit and a nice assortment. You could... More

We were chilling in New York last week-end and went to Bistro Chat Noir for brunch on Sunday. This was a very enjoyable experience. We will definitely return at our next visit to New York... this time for dinner.

Happened upon this cute bistro while I was walking near the Frick Collection. It has a great look and vibe. Small but cozy. The food and wine list are well chosen. The bread and French Onion soup were delicious and the dessert list decadent. Would definitely visit again.

This restaurant was suggested by our concierge as a local bistro. Local for Fifth Avenue! We were under dressed as ladies were all dressed to the nines and the men all in jackets and ties. Very unusual in the US. Despite that we had an excellent meal. The service was good and friendly and food was excellent. Nice decor and... More

We know real French cuisine, as we travel to France quite frequently, (and have family there). Suzanne (the owner), makes sure that we always have a beautiful dining experience... The servers are always attentive and informative about the menu specials and new selections. Lyric is a great bartender, and we always enjoy the lobster salad and perfect martinis! If you... More

We had Christmas Day lunch at Bistro Chat Noir. It was wonderful. Every course was beautifully presented and was everything we hoped for. Wonderful flavour and generous portions. They offered a 4 course meal which was extremely well priced. The staff were very friendly too which was a real treat as this was a Christmas away from home for us.... More

The two of us dropped into this place on the way back to our accommodation after a long day in the Met, stumbling on it accidentally, on our third day in NY from Oz, not having been here (NY) before. We had a cocktail prior to dinner and had only one course. The food was reasonable and the staff were... More

Bistro Chat Noir is a comfortable little place within easy walking of some of the east side museums in New York. It has the ambience -- and to some extent, the clientele -- of those little tea rooms where ladies of a certain age lunch. But the food is first-rate and the portions are ample. Nice place.

I was walking, somewhat despondent that I was unable to get into the Frick, when I spotted this lovely restaurant and decided to give it a try! Lovely ambiance, lovely menu and great service! I ordered a Pastis to get things started and after looking over a menu with a variety of tempting offerings, ordered the tuna tartar and french... More
