Boxing's Prized Dynasty In Times Square's Jimmy's Corner's Bar

Around midnight, on May 22, 2015 "A blast from the past," underscored the start of my Memorial Day Weekend, at boxing legend's trainer and manager, Jimmy Sheen's Jimmy's Corner dive bar. A Black male replied that Bloody Marys cost not more than $7, in Jimmy's Corner, were we stood outside it's door, after New York Global.biz's retired veteran/International photographer asked... I'm doing this review on behalf of my Partner who absolutely loved this place. The title of my review explains why! It's not much to look at from the outside, but don't let that put you off as it's a great little place packed with atmosphere. Signed dollar bills cover the walls along with sports pictures and memorabilia. The drinks... More

I have been stopping in Jimmy's Corner whenever I am in NY for something like 20 years. I discovered it staying at a hotel across the street and asking the hotel bartender where was a "really good bar." He told me the best bar in NY was right across the street and he was right! Jimmy Glenn is a true... More

Went here for drinks before a show after seeing trip advisor reviews. Can't go wrong with $3 a beer! The barman was quick and relatively friendly. The people in there were interesting and we had a few good conversations with couples from various parts of the US. Certainly worth checking out for cheap beer and a friendly atmosphere close to... We went to this place to warm ourselves up prior to heading to some night clubs. Very competitive pricing especially given the pub is located in times square proximity... Not the coziest pub in town but I would say the ideal place for quick drink at a very low cost. (Four long island ice teas cost us only $24). Usually... More

This very small pub has literally thousands (if not more) pictures and assorted memorabilia about boxing covering just about every flat spot in the building. The drinks are very reasonably priced, the staff is friendly and efficient. Don't plan on munching on pub grub as there's no food offered.

Was in NYC prior to going to the IBHOF upstate later in the week and Jimmy's was on our boxing tour list. What a wealth of boxing history on the walls. Lovely, friendly staff, and Jimmy is a true gentleman, sharing many stories with us over a few (too many) beers. Haha. For an Aussie heavily involved with boxing, Jimmy's... More

Jimmy has owned this bar for around 40 years, a true local who is very humble and happy to mix with patrons. Beer is cheap at $3 a glass, the walls are adorned with boxing memorabilia and signed $1 bills. Be prepared to stand at the bar as there are only a few stools. A great place for an unpretentious... Loved this bar. We came to NY for a few nights and spent three of them ending here. Great bar staff. Cheap and cheerful. Jimmy is a star. Love that it's pokey and full of his boxing memorabilia. There's no tourists (like us!) It's a real bar for people to relax and unwind. We even bought the tshirt!

Jimmy's corner is a great Times Square Pub full of boxing memorabilia and inexpensive beer. Very authentic New York place even though you're in the tourist area. if you are a boxing fan it's a must see

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
