You don't find many of these little theatre district dive bars anymore. Cheap prices, good bartenders who are friendly if you are. Wonderful old prizefight photos on wall. A draft beer with a shot of bar whiskey is $7. Probably 50% less than nearby joints. Not a place for kids or I-Phone nerds. Ideal for adults who want genuine atmosphere,... More

The drinks are cheap, as promised. But the good part stops there. We were practically threw out because we were "not drinking fast enough" (I was finishing my second beer after 25 minutes being there). The exact words were "if you seat, you drink, otherwise leave". So we left, told we were being mistreated, and they couldn't care less. Cheap... More

Don't let appearances fool you, this is actually a pretty awesome bar with unbeatable prices for its location. Just don't go to early as it was as quiet as a church and quite awkward until it filled up.

Was here last June for my 60th birthday, when Jimmy heard it was my birthday, the bar man put a two upturned glasses on the bar in front of my wife & myself, when I asked what it meant, I was told it was a drink off jimmy, then the same thing happened again from a couple jimmys regulars, Well,... This bar being rated highly is a misrepresentation. It is a dirty, dingy dive and the guy who appears to be the manager is a rude, aggressive and miserable person. We walked in to get away from the hubbub and craziness of Times Square, only to be presented with an irascible bartender/manager who had clearly never been taught how to... More

This place was rated number 1 on a list of top ten bars in NYC. Very disappointing, we actually worked our way down the list to number one. We could see everything the bar tender was doing. We got 2 Rum & Coke, one had half a glass of rum, the other was a quarter cup of rum. We did... More

Jimmy is from SC and he used to be the cut man for Mohammed Ali. Enough said. Go here to drink and if Jimmy is there tell him hey.

Jimmy's has been our "home base" for several trips to NYC for the Big East Basketball Tournament. It may be the coolest dive bar on the planet. Good Beer, people who look much more interesting than me and of course Jimmy-who is a real gentleman. On one night there at 2:30 or so after multiple cold beers, we got up... More

If you like to drink in a dive (and I do), Jimmy's is for you. This is a very small (particularly narrow) bar that can get packed. The walls are graced with boxing memorabilia. One of the few places to get cheap beers in NYC. Patrons are generally friendly and this is a fun place to hang .... If you... More

Wow, just off Times Square a real old bar. This place is rather small and is well worn. Very reasonable priced beers including Captain Lawrence IPA on tap. Interesting jukebox and pleasant bartenders. I did not expect to find a place like this in this part of the city. If you are boxing fan I'm sure you would find the... More
