Good quick visit to this place, next to another that I liked better. But still good place and experience, I will definitively come back for more.

I had the pleasure of visiting this bar on Friday night after having dinner nearby. Extremely atmospheric, and I was just awestruck by the boxing memorabilia. Fortunate enough to spend lots of time talking to Jimmy's son James, before the man himself came in. A remarkably humble character whose company it was a pleasure to be in. Incredible that such... Having searched on the internet for somewhere authentic to go, we walked a few steps from our hotel and found jimmy's. A proper New York bar. No frills. Go and enjoy.

This has got to be one of the best bars in the thick of Times Square. The service is exceptional (for a dive bar) and the price points are unreal (for anywhere, let alone Manhattan). The reason why I hesitate to write this review is that I don't want to let too many in on this hidden gem which seems... More

We were surprised to find such a nice and cheap bar near the time square! Coctails for 6 bucks - thats cool, and the guy at the bar was very nice. Looking at other reviews, that say "bad service" seems that others just were not so lucky as us ;)

You don't find many of these little theatre district dive bars anymore. Cheap prices, good bartenders who are friendly if you are. Wonderful old prizefight photos on wall. A draft beer with a shot of bar whiskey is $7. Probably 50% less than nearby joints. Not a place for kids or I-Phone nerds. Ideal for adults who want genuine atmosphere,... More

The drinks are cheap, as promised. But the good part stops there. We were practically threw out because we were "not drinking fast enough" (I was finishing my second beer after 25 minutes being there). The exact words were "if you seat, you drink, otherwise leave". So we left, told we were being mistreated, and they couldn't care less. Cheap... More

Don't let appearances fool you, this is actually a pretty awesome bar with unbeatable prices for its location. Just don't go to early as it was as quiet as a church and quite awkward until it filled up.

Was here last June for my 60th birthday, when Jimmy heard it was my birthday, the bar man put a two upturned glasses on the bar in front of my wife & myself, when I asked what it meant, I was told it was a drink off jimmy, then the same thing happened again from a couple jimmys regulars, Well,... This bar being rated highly is a misrepresentation. It is a dirty, dingy dive and the guy who appears to be the manager is a rude, aggressive and miserable person. We walked in to get away from the hubbub and craziness of Times Square, only to be presented with an irascible bartender/manager who had clearly never been taught how to... More
