A hidden gem

Visited after reading the other reviews. This is a classic sit at the bar old style booze bar. Just like New Yorkers do when they throw the dollars on the bar before leaving. Great for a sit down and a yap with some of the locals......no frills - just cheap beer and a great atmosphere. was only a few yards from my hotel so gave it a visit most days. some fantastic boxing memorabilia hanging on the wall. Worth a visit.

First night in New York City and decided to visit this bar as it was recommended in rough guide. I ordered a vodka and orange juice and thought it tasted a little weak but I put it down to jet lag. my second vodka and OJ was equally bad. The waitress either poured me a light measure or worse still... More

I visited this bar with a friend after singing a concert in Carnegie Hall and had the best bartender. She was wicked nice and made great drinks. The regulars are all super friendly as well and Jimmy seems like a sweet guy. Definitely would recommend for anyone visiting the city! Its the perfect bar to visit because of its small... More

I really love this place. I come here every December now when I'm in town. The wait staff is on point and the beer really is the cheapest you'll find anywhere in the city. It can get crowded but even when there were ten of us, we never had a problem with seats.

When you want to escape all of the tourist rush, drop into Jimmy's! We met friends there while visiting, and this place is beyond cool. The place is centered around a boxing theme, and the bartender is extremely knowledgable about the history of the place. Do not leave NYC with a visit to Jimmy's Corner Bar!

Visited last week, fantastic bar. Great old school juke box, cheap drinks, mixed bunch of drinkers. I felt like i was on the set of a Scorsese movie. Really enjoyed the bar and will definatley visit next time in NY. Jimmy clocked my Ricky Hatton t shirt and shook my hand, a true gent!

Need a refuge from the never ending crush of furry characters, crappy superheroes and TGI Fridays? Jimmy's is your jam. Honest-to-goodness dive bar crammed into what is essentially a long hallway. Bartenders that are cool if you are, but stern (not a'hole-ish) if you are a jackleg trying to a) skate in without ID or b) pull off a stealth... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
