My friend and I were in Carlsbad for 3 days. Every time we passed this place, it was closed. At a museum we asked for lunch recommendations and they told us they were open for lunch until 1:45. Apparently they have very limited hours. Both of us had burgers. We agreed they were good but not really special. If you... More

Great staff, plain good food, nothing is fancy at all. Large portions, quick service, decent prices.

We went to the No Whiner Diner based on the positive reviews for the food. After a long drive into Carlsbad, we really did not want to deal with a long dinner, but did want something good. First of all, the staff were all very nice, friendly and efficient. We ordered onion rings to start, and these were quite good.... More

The name really caught my attention as I was traveling with some whiny, tired kids. The one who didn't want to go to the diner absolutely loved his food which was a pasta dish. The portion was huge but he ate every bite. The waiter was very accommodating as we asked many questions about the food. He even brought my son... More

Chose to eat dinner here after reading reviews on Tripadvisor. We had just left the Caverns and were starving. It was about 6pm on a Thursday, and we were seated right away. The place is not pretty, but comfortable and the wait staff is very friendly. The only complaint I have is the temperature inside; It was FREEZING. I'm always... More

Great, attentive & quick service. Better than some high quality restaurants. Fun, iconic, diner...clean & quaint find in more food choice desolate area. However, our expectations were slightly deflated after reading the reviews of "homecooked" & best meal. Although the food was wholesome & well cooked, it definitely seemed from pre-frozen commercial food supplier belying the made from scratch feel... More

This place has good food with big portions. The service was quick and good. The only down side is the sitting area is a little small. So it sometimes feels like you are on top of other people at the restaurant.

Short version: You should definitely stop here for great food. Prices were pretty good as well (around $9.50 per plate). Long Version: There's a cool looking playground right next to the restaurant for small children that looked like fun but since we just came from playing my toddler was out like a light. We were greeted in a nice manner... More

We saw this restaurant on our way back to our hotel after spending the day at Carlsbad Caverns NP. My wife and I both had senior specials for dinner which, while they provided plenty of food, the quality was poor. My pasta was overcooked and the sauce was very thin. My wife's fish was overcooked and dry. The only bright... More
