We had breakfast at Pecos River Cafe on the way out of town. We were seated right away. The service was excellent and the food was good. I had the huevos rancheros. Be warned that the hot green chilies are hot - but they were good.

Lots of friendly staff get your meal out quickly. Patty melt was good, steak fries were great, the shrimp just okay. We got a gigantic cinnamon roll to go-not to heavy on the cinnamon, but lots of yummy icing. Would stop again if I was this way again. They are not open for dinner.

We stopped in for lunch and knew we had probably hit a local treasure because of all the people who were waiting to be seated. We might have walked right back out if we hadn't noticed how the wait staff was hustling to take care of everyone. We waited 10-15 minutes to be seated, but within 10 minutes of that... More

Consistently good food. Prompt service. Always crowded but wait time is minimal. Wish they would expand their hours. So far, they have the best Reuben sandwich I have found in Carlsbad.

The service has always been good and the food has been the same. They also have a wide range of food to choose from. Unfortunately they are only open during the week and do not stay open late. Also their setting area can get a little crammed. But in all a great place to have a meal.

Our group of 7 came here on the last day of our visit to Carlsbad for breakfast. It was on a weekday morning around 9:00. The place was packed but we were able to get a table in about 15 minutes. I had the number one which is 2 eggs, hash browns, bacon, and pancakes. Everything was good and not... More

This is a buzz with folks eating breakfast and lunch and its no wonder. They serve fresh cooked wholesome food at very reasonable prices. Never had a bad meal here in 20 visits

I love alfalfa sprouts so when I saw the were on the menu in a turkey sandwich, I ordered it. They loaded my sandwich up with turkey, the vegetables were all fresh. I thought the bread tasted good but the roll was too thick. I think they should offer a green chile mayo, it would have made my sandwich out... More

I went for a late lunch and had the Enchilada plate with green sauce. I like green chili's (these were mild) and it was very good. The beans were good and there was plenty of food. The service was good and everyone was friendly. I started to order the apple pie but learned that it wasn't homemade so I skipped... More
