GREAT atmosphere and pretty good BBQ.

The kids LOVED this place. There's a bear crawling up the wall and tons of animal mounts to look at. The BBQ was extremely decent. The brisket was good, although a little fatty, the chicken was tasty and the kids catfish was gobbled up. The coleslaw was fresh and the beans were okay. A little... read more

It is always a treat to find a great meal from a locally owned establishment while traveling. I tend to look for a full parking lot and this place had it. Get the combo plate. I substituted pork for ham. The tri tip was the most tender I have had and the hot link and pork were both excellent. The... More

After a couple of back-to-back bad restaurant experiences in the booming oilfields, I was about to give up on finding a decent meal in this town. That was until tonight when I stopped in at the Red Chimney. It truly is THE BEST BBQ in Eddy Country...and perhaps in all of east New Mexico. And don't be off-put by the... More

I really enjoy dining here. The pulled pork and ribs are very good. The staff is friendly and attentive. I go here whenever I am in town. The cole slaw is like mama used to make. Really!

Not baked....parboiled. Chopped beef was warmed up in the sauce. Butter and sour cream were melted in the take home box. Not a fan. First and last time to eat here.

This is a highly-decorated restaurant sporting plenty of hunting trophies and taxidermied wild animals, along with catchy signs. They have decent bar-b-que, but it's loaded with salt. That's pretty much all I taste in the sandwiches or the plates. That said, their green chile cheeseburger ranks up with the best. The restaurant is pretty pricey, too. My husband and I... More

Very yummy barbecue. It is Kentucky style, so a bit vinegary (don't expect sticky sweet BBQ sauce) but absolutely amazing. I had the smashed pig, hubby and son had brisket. Everything was hot and fresh and delicious. Ended lunch with fresh cobbler and ice cream. A definite awesome lunch spot.

We were having a difficult time finding a unique and acceptable place to eat in Carlsbad. (Not a big fan of the town.) This restaurant had good barbecue at a good price. I had the chop mix sandwich and enjoyed it. Can't recall what my wife had, but she was also pleased. The place is one of a kind, decor... More
