This is not fancy dining, but I thought it was excellent for the type of restaurant it aims to be: a reliable, comfortable standard American restaurant. The ribeye steak was good quality and cooked just as I asked; and well seasoned. A "vegetable medley" is usually a soggy blend of canned vegetables. These were freshly sauteed in a white wine... the food was really good and at fair prices. The wait staff were all students at the local university and were polite and intelligent. The dining experience was pleasant and I would choose it again if I were in Carlsbad.

Nope, not all Best Western hotels are the same. This one was outstanding in every way...service, cleanliness, breakfast, bed, pillows, bathroom, amenities, and relatively close to the Caverns

Overall, this was a very clean hotel with friendly staff. We came here for a friend's wedding and this is the hotel that was recommended by the bridal party. It was pricey for the type of hotel, but all of the other hotels in Carlsbad seemed equally as pricey. The breakfast buffet was free and pretty good. The main drawback... More

Room was ok (typical for a BW), fridge did not work. Internet connection was pitiful. The only real thing this place had going for it was that it was indoors and near the caverns. I would likely try another hotel if I were to go back for a second visit to the caverns.

Was visiting Carlsbad with two grandchildren. Everything in Carlsbad overpriced, including this restaurant. We had the chicken fried steak and it was good. Service was good and efficient. Would give the restaurant 3.5.

Stayed at the Best Western for several weeks with other family/business members. This was a 'no drive' dining option as we were exhausted and consuming alcohol most every evening. The food is great if you stick to the standard fare suited for a remote locale such as Carlsbad. Chicken fried steak - awesome, most pasta dishes, tilapia, steak (considering price... More

Basic Clean Motel right off Highway 180, about 26 miles from Carlsbad Cavern National Park. Our nonsmoking room was right next door to a long term tenant who had his door open and was smoking inside. Smoke kept drifting into our room, yuck. Breakfast items were so/so. Nothing special or worth remembering. Bedspread was dirty, but the sheets on the... More

1. My orange juice had been poured very warm into a full glass of ice. The result was lightly flavored colored water. Ice is obviously less expensive than orange juice. 2. My carne asada would have been very good if it had been hot. It was less than tepid. 3. My refried beans were stone cold as if they had... More
