My wife has a life threatening fish and shellfish allergy. The staff at Ortega'z were very understanding and accomodating and the food was VERY good as well.

We were tired, we were hungry, we stumbled in - a party of seven from five different states gathered together on the Outer Banks. We were welcomed and fed - quickly and with consideration from the hostess to the waitress. The Paella was superb, the She Crab soup excellent, the guacamole and fish tacos wonderful and the salads fresh and... More

We watched Guy from Diners and Dives review this restaurant and wanted to try it. It was very good. We really went to try the fish tacos but they were out of fish so we had the shrimp tacos and they were excellent. Everything we had was so good right down to the sweet tea. They were very busy but... More

Waitress (Ashley) took our order for drinks and food quickly. 20 minutes later she came to the table and said she forgot to put our order in. Restaurant was only about 1/3 full, so she was not overly busy. She brought us complimentary chips for the mistake. 25 minutes later our food arrives to the table and she put in... More

Whenever we are in Manteo this is always where we stop for lunch or dinner. Their nachos are humongous and delicious. Try the stuffed shrimp. One of our favorites. Their ruby red margarita is always top notch and the server we love most is "Tom Da Bomb". What a personailty and such a nice man. Its a quiet place to... More

Had the Shrimp Ceviche; it was refreshing and great. The Crab soup was very light and tasty. Fish tacos had chunks of fish and very fresh. I want to go back again. Its tuck in a corner, you need to look for it. It was not far from the aquarium, just in time for lunch!

While on vacation, my husband wanted to go to Oretega'z for his birthday. We went there last year and the meal was just wonderful. This time, not so much. Three of us got enchiladas and they were good, but when we left, we all said that we were not feeling so good. The other member of our party got a... More

My friend took me here and promised me an exquisite mean. Ortega'z did not disappoint. The food was first rate. Could not stop saying "mmmmm". Service just right and the owner was ever present making sure everything was working optimally. What a find. Will be back soon.

Too complex to just be called "Mexican", but we did the 'survey of apps" once with Ruby Red Margaritas, and returned 3 days later for dinner. So many great choices, not one a disappointment
