This place was just about perfect. Great food, atmosphere, and location. The only complaint I have is the staff. They weren't exactly friendly. Definitely worth it to stop in.

One of the few local restaurants that is open late, good onion rings, great club sandwich! Full bar and entertainment. But not pet friendly, just as an FYI. One family member thought the pulled pork was dry, but in their defense it was closing time and the lady at the bar was doing us a favor by serving us (she... More

We enjoyed Poor Richard's so much the day we went there for lunch, that we went back the next day. The sandwiches and the potato salad were delicious. The first day it was raining so we sat inside which was pleasant. The next day was sunny so we ate outside on the porch. Would love to go back the next... More

We had been at the beach for a week and to be honest, was up to my gills in seafood. Don't get me wrong, I really like seafood, but to much of a good thing can get difficult, too. Poor Richard's is a welcome alternative to an endless series of seafood. We were on the way home and my wife... More

Spent the day in Manteo and arrived just before lunch. We found Poor Richard's Sandwich Shop which had seating outside on the water front. They offered a variety of deli style sandwiches and more elaborate lunch options for a larger meal. You order at the counter, find a seat, and the wait staff brings your food to your table. Our... There aren't very many tables in this small restaurant, but don't let that discourage you. They have really great deli and hot sandwiches. They have fresh fruit that my daughter loved and superb pasta salad. They have an area to sit outside overlooking the water.

We arrived an hour before closing time on a Sunday afternoon and their was a slight line to order. When we tried to place our order, we were informed that they were "backed up" and they were no longer taking orders for fries or onion rings but we could have chips with our combo. We actually came for the onion... More

Of all our trips to the Outer Banks we have never eaten at Poor Richards....until yesterday. This is our new regular spot from now on. Great friendly staff with fast service. The pimento cheese is best ever and homemade. Fries are coated and the best around. We sat on the back porch whis is on the Manteo harbor. Great breeze... More

I love this place. We visit Manteo on the weekends, and do Poor Richards pretty frequently. Most recently, we spent a day at Roanoke Island Festival Park (the old looking ship across from the Manteo waterfront) on Saturday, and walked (less than 10 minutes) to Poor Richards for lunch. The restaurant is narrow, there isn’t a lot of space. We... More

Popular sandwich shop on the waterfront. Get on the line to order , take a seat and they bring lunch. Card cake sandwich was delicious, service pretty quick. Free refills on drinks. Good prices as well.
