Always lots of food. The Wings are their best kept secret. Trivia night on Thursdays ..so much fun! Didn't care for the hotdog chili on the chili cheese fried though..blech

It's right on the water and has a variety of sandwiches. Service is generally quick and you get a good value. Interesting bit of local color right in the downtown area of Manteo.

Small pirate-themed sandwich shop that I guess turns more bar oriented in the evening, The place closes at 3pm. This is not noted on the door, window, or menu. A passing UPS guy told us. They reopen at 5pm but will only seat in the bar area. So, the bar area only seats maybe a dozen people and in the... More

This place was just about perfect. Great food, atmosphere, and location. The only complaint I have is the staff. They weren't exactly friendly. Definitely worth it to stop in.

One of the few local restaurants that is open late, good onion rings, great club sandwich! Full bar and entertainment. But not pet friendly, just as an FYI. One family member thought the pulled pork was dry, but in their defense it was closing time and the lady at the bar was doing us a favor by serving us (she... More

We enjoyed Poor Richard's so much the day we went there for lunch, that we went back the next day. The sandwiches and the potato salad were delicious. The first day it was raining so we sat inside which was pleasant. The next day was sunny so we ate outside on the porch. Would love to go back the next... More

We had been at the beach for a week and to be honest, was up to my gills in seafood. Don't get me wrong, I really like seafood, but to much of a good thing can get difficult, too. Poor Richard's is a welcome alternative to an endless series of seafood. We were on the way home and my wife... More

Spent the day in Manteo and arrived just before lunch. We found Poor Richard's Sandwich Shop which had seating outside on the water front. They offered a variety of deli style sandwiches and more elaborate lunch options for a larger meal. You order at the counter, find a seat, and the wait staff brings your food to your table. Our...
