Fun place to eat

Food was good but the atmosphere and memorabilia great. Granddaughters enjoyed seeing the things that were part of their grandparents life.

My husband and I were looking for a restaurant that served burger's after maxing out on seafood while in OBX. We had been to Bigs Als one other time and decided to return. We walk into the restaurant and was escorted into a back room and there were fly every where! I counted 10 flies within a short distance without... More

Our waitress was MIA a good bit of the time. The food was good, french fries perfectly seasoned. The oreo shake was ok but not the best and the chocolate malt left something to be desired. (Mainly malt.)

Rob is the man. Imagine a perfectly cooked burger, topped with tenderly cooked pulled pork, gently enveloped by cheddar cheese and crowned with the most glorious crest imaginable: an onion ring. Now imagine all of that, given to you by a super funny, polite, efficient server like Rob. Five stars.

Had a lot of fun! Good food and great service. Rob was great! He joked with us and told us about some great things to do there too. He will always be know as Dr. Puppy!

Eating at Big Al's felt just like being in a 50's diner, from the decor to the menu to the staff. Large milkshakes, delicious burgers, even the salad was large and filling! A lot of 50's themed items in the gift shop, and many photo-worthy items in the restaurant.

Larry provided us with the best service we have ever had here. He was very attentive and made sure that we had everything we needed and kept our drinks full. Our food was brought out quickly and was delicious! Thanks for a great lunch!!

We stopped here to grab a quick bite. We were not impressed with the quality of the food offered or the service. It appeared that just a bunch of younger people were running this place. We would not return to this restaurant.

I am in Salvo for the week with a friend's family and decided to go check out the surrounding towns. Got on TripAdvisor to find a good eating spot, and to say the least, we hit the GOLDMINE!! The burgers are absolutely mouth-melting, and the Coke - float hit the spot !! If I'm ever in the area again, I'm... More
