FUN ATMOSPHERE, FOOD IS AVERAGE.

Excellent BBQ sandwich! The steak and cheese is awesome as well. The staff is just ok, as they seemed to have all college students as servers and cashiers. Prices were ok. The atmosphere is fun....great for families with kids.

The food here was not exceptional by any means. However it is a fun place. There is a soda fountain and old style stools. They also have fifty and sixties music playing with an old fashion juke box. My granddaughters had a great time but sandwiched and fries were just average.

This place is always a fun place to go. The service is good and the people are nice. I got the buffalo chicken sandwich- my bun was soaked in hot sauce, and the other park was hard. The blue Monday burger is what my boyfriend got and it was good. Everything is a bit pricey.

If you want a time travel to the 1950's soda shoppe, this is the place for you. The food was great, all the classics. The wait staff was on top of it too, you could tell they were prepared for the afternoon rush. There is a cute little gift shoppe there also.

Hands down Michael C provided us the best and most respectful service. After having a bad experience at two other restaurants yeasterday, Michael sure knew how to show that some good eats are to be found on the beach. Thank you Michael for being a great server.

It's a 50's styled diner. Very nostalgic and cute. My husband wanted a burger and shake, this is the place to go. Strawberry shake was thick and delicious. My Cobb salad was fresh and tasted great. Grilled chicken was moist and tender. My husbands burger was good and cooked the way he wanted it. Service and hosts were very friendly.

We saw this place on the way to the Manteo N.C. waterfront and decided to try it. It is sort of nostalgic in that it mimics the old 50's/60 's soda fountain/snack bar where the burgers were made by hand and fried on a flat top. The hamburgers were very tasty and reasonable for a tourist area. The little gal... More

Our second visit to big Al's. Excellent retro atmosphere, family friendly and top-notch comfort food. Staff was enthusiastic and friendly. Our waitress, Shyanne, clearly enjoys her job and went out of her way to ensure we had an enjoyable meal. We will be back.

During our first visit, we found the restaurant dirty, cluttered and the food was not appealing. Service was awful, food cold on arrival. Not sure what all the hype is about.

Great wait staff and good food. Nice setting with lots of 50's and 60's memories. We had this on our list of places last year, and it was one of the places we were looking forward to again. Did not disappoint.
