Enticed by the shiny retro atmosphere we went for a late lunch. Service was uninspiring, place was filthy dirty and the food was mediocre for the cost. I won't be returning to Big Al's and I truly feel as if my patronage was never wanted. I won't be returning.

A great place to stop after seeing the sights in manteo. In fact, a bit of a relief after the crowded, over-priced fare in Manteo proper. The burgers are well worth the price.

We went here a few years and loved it, but this year we went back and it was awful. First the hostess looked bored and like we were bothering her. When we sat at the table I saw what can only be described as chewed up food on tables. Gross! The food was nothing to write home about either. We... More

Husband and I stopped here for lunch before heading to Alligator River Refuge. I read someone commenting that menu was a bit pricey. I just didn't see that menu ...although price is relative. My bacon burger with green leaf lettuce and tomato and fries was $8.99. The fries were awesome! My husband had grilled chicken with lettuce, tomato, and pickle... More

Food is great, atmosphere is neat, and our server was outstanding. Very attentive to us without being overbearing. Sorry I can't remember her name to mention her specifically.

The atmosphere is great. The food is pretty good. The customer service is above average, but what really bugged me about this place is my order being screwed up so bad and then didnt respond to their own website email. I ordered the bacon blue burger and got some kind of western burger instead. I let it slide cause I... More

We decided to stop by here on the way back after a nice drive to the alligator river refuge area . The menu is a little pricey but the food was good, my wife and I decided to order two meals and split them with the kids. My wife ordered the tuna salad sandwich without the bread and I ordered... My family of 6 and 3 babies went to Al's for lunch and had an amaZing experience. Our server Shannon was literally one of the best servers I've ever had in my life. She made it very special. Food was great
