Great view good food

Facing the bay, this place offers a variety of luncheon items at a fair price. The whole belly clams were fresh and properly fried. The beet salad is a great addition to the menu suggested by our attentive waitress. Aside from very noisy yacht people who insisted on yelling at each other while... read more

I have been here twice - once in September on a rainy day and once in May on an absolutely beautiful day, and both times sat out on the upstairs deck to look out over Wellfleet Bay as we had lunch. Both times - terrific! In my opinion, this place has the sweetest, freshest oysters on half-shell on the entire... More

This place has really great food - raw and fried oysters were great, as are their lobster rolls and oyster stew. We loved it so much we ate here twice during our stay - had we had more time I would have gone a third time too!

This local eatery is very popular and has great food at fair prices. The dinners always come with freshly baked bread or buns. The seafood is so fresh - it's right on the harbor - you can't get fresher than that. Early season so our some favorite's weren't on the menu - this was not a problem - we asked... More

We have been to B&R several times over the years and enjoy it each time. The surf and turf was very tasty. The Baked Fisherman was excellent. My grandson (12) has the chicken parm and thought it was too cheesy, but I sure enjoyed helping him finish. The noodles were great, not soggy. The beer mussel appetizer was sufficient for... More

My boyfriend and I had no idea where to eat in the cape in early April as most places are closed and it was our first time here. We fell upon the Bookstore and are so happy we did. The service was excellent. Not to mention the food was delicious. The clam chowder was scrumptious and the fish pot was... More

We stopped here for late Sunday lunch as the place came well recommended (by another nearby restaurant that closes between lunch & dinner). We are a family of 4 and we tried many selections and they were all good! This include everything from the extra creamy clam chowder to the oysters, mussels, shrimp, lobster, even the hot pastrami. The only... More

I usually end up visiting the Bookstore when the other restaurants in town are closed or full. (I have probably eaten here twenty times.). If that's not much of an endorsement, it's because this place is usually, and for most menu items, just okay. The best thing is its location right across from the beach with a view of the... More

We were visiting a friend in wellfleet and he recommended we go to this restaurant, it being off season not a lot is open. We'll I'm so glad we did. The service was great, and the food excellent, and unusually interesting for a sea food restaurant. Between the four of us we had oysters (some of the best I've ever... More

We were originally day-tripping the OYSTER FEST...but...weather was great, we found a room locally, and then decided on dinner. The BOOKSTORE won out!! AND it was terrific...YES, I had room after the oysters on Main Street..ha ha!! Really, we chose the upstairs area, had nice cocktails, watched the sunset, and just had a nice time at The Bookstore. So if... More
