I have been back to this restaurant each season. The food is consistently excellent as well as the service. You can tell the pleasant owners keep a close pulse on what is going on. There are early bird specials but you can always get smaller "bistro" portions. It doesn't matter what you order as everything is always fresh, fresh, fresh!... More

I can only comment on the breakfast here. This is a great place to take your family. There is a full menu with something for everyone. The service is friendly and quick. The food was quite good and the portions large. The prices can't be beat. If you are feeding a family of hungry children while on vacation I would... More

This was our second Sunday breakfast at VR's. It was intentional as the first was delightful and the second even more so as we looked forward to it. The owners, Peter and Diane, were both present and prominent in greeting and seating diners. To me it says something when the owners are active participants in the daily activities of the... More

The restaurant was recommended by a friend that says locals eat here too. We were so impressed that we went back on three different occasions which we don't usually do when on vacation! The service and staff were friendly and helpful. The food was great!! My husband and LOVED the seafood choices and the way the food was prepared. The... More

I thought I had had great breakfasts but this place took the prize. The food was just amazing and the service really nice. Well worth the small wait we had one day!

This is the place to go on the Cape if you are looking for a good meal that is not tourist food. They offer multiple portion sizes which is a plus.

We had seen Van Rensselar's many times when we rented cottages in Wellfleet but had never stopped in. This time however a friend who has lived in the town for many years suggested it, so we tried it. It was excellent. It has a extensive salad bar which is an unusual find today , with two sizes of meals so... More

Stopped here before heading to Marconi's for the day last weekend for brunch. They serve brunch until 12N, and have a ton of options. I ordered the avocado egg white roll up. The avocado roll up was original and delicious, and they had fresh fruit as a side option with a variety of different fruits. The tables are set far... More

Delicious food, gracious hospitality. A great way to end a wonderful weekend on the Cape. Even though there is no ocean view, the decor is nice and the screened in patio is very pleasant.

August 24, 2014 - We've come to the Cape for the last 18 years. We always come to Van Rensselaer's for the Breakfast Buffet, never minding the long wait for a table. The Buffet is no longer available, that was disappointing enough. But we waited outside for 25 minutes for a table, to find the restaurant was not full. We... More
