The restaurant was recommended by a friend that says locals eat here too. We were so impressed that we went back on three different occasions which we don't usually do when on vacation! The service and staff were friendly and helpful. The food was great!! My husband and LOVED the seafood choices and the way the food was prepared. The... More

I thought I had had great breakfasts but this place took the prize. The food was just amazing and the service really nice. Well worth the small wait we had one day!

This is the place to go on the Cape if you are looking for a good meal that is not tourist food. They offer multiple portion sizes which is a plus.

We had seen Van Rensselar's many times when we rented cottages in Wellfleet but had never stopped in. This time however a friend who has lived in the town for many years suggested it, so we tried it. It was excellent. It has a extensive salad bar which is an unusual find today , with two sizes of meals so... More

Stopped here before heading to Marconi's for the day last weekend for brunch. They serve brunch until 12N, and have a ton of options. I ordered the avocado egg white roll up. The avocado roll up was original and delicious, and they had fresh fruit as a side option with a variety of different fruits. The tables are set far... More

Delicious food, gracious hospitality. A great way to end a wonderful weekend on the Cape. Even though there is no ocean view, the decor is nice and the screened in patio is very pleasant.

August 24, 2014 - We've come to the Cape for the last 18 years. We always come to Van Rensselaer's for the Breakfast Buffet, never minding the long wait for a table. The Buffet is no longer available, that was disappointing enough. But we waited outside for 25 minutes for a table, to find the restaurant was not full. We... More

This restaurant is locally owned and they have had a great reputation for a long time. I have eaten there when we are on the Cape for the summer but neglected to write a review since everyone we know on the Cape knows about this great place so I thought they did not need my help. However, after eating there... More

Seems like a popular spot for locals as the staff knew a lot of the customers. We did go there twice so it was our place of choice to eat breakfast. While the cappucino's and mocha's I believe are machine made they are actually pretty good compared to what you can normally get in the North East so this alone... More

We were with a party of 8, including a two-year-old. The staff was quite attentive, and the food was delicious. I had the broiled scallops, and they were delicately cooked and seasoned, and served with a fresh vegetable medley.
