We are staying in a nearby hotel and were in the mood for some asian food. The reviews looked great so we were looking forward to our visit. As soon as we entered the restaurant, we got a strange vibe. There were only 2 other people there and they looked unhappy to see us. We learned later that they were... More

Ah, Indonesian food. Is there anything better? Lamentably, I didn't get around to any Thai dishes though they were highly reviewed but when given a choice between Thai and Indo, Indonesia will always come first. A few things have changed on the menu from the one online but when I suggested a combination not on the menu, they accommodated me.... More

Unusual combination of Thai and Indonesian--former great, latter less so. Nasi goreng rather dry, but all Thai dishes I sampled were terrific.

One of the best places for Thai food in San Diego. Tucked away in the shadows of TGIF & Benihana, this place will impress you! Unassuming atmosphere coupled with great food- clearly a don't miss if you're in the area! Try the fish cakes and any of the curry dishes. The (shrimp) Pad Thai is fantastic! Top off your meal... We were looking for something different and the receptionist at our hotel mentioned Bali Thai. We used to frequent Restaurant Indonesia in Calgary, AB, until sadly it closed. This was the closest we've come to the food we used to enjoy. The food and service were exceptional!

This restaurant is tucked away in a corner and you'd have to be looking for it or else you'd never see it. But it's worth looking for. The food was top-notch. We had a chicken satay appetizer. It came with a peanut sauce and a sweet vinegar concoction, which was awesome. The wife had a delicious pad Thai entree and... More

Our visit to San Diego was highlighted, when taken to this restaurant late one afternoon. We shared multiple orders of appetizers. Food and service were excellent, and the atmosphere delightful.

My wife is Indonesian, so we are always on the lookout for Indonesian restaurants. We happened to find Bali Thai and so we had to try it. It is at the far end of Hotel Circle and a bit hard to fine. It is a small, but very nicely decorated restaurant, with quite a bit of outdoor seating. We got... More

If your not familiar with San Diego, then be sure to load the address in your GPS or you'll never find this hidden gem. On the evening we visited, we arrived just before six pm and business has not gotten cranked up yet. We sat inside and were the only customers for about 30 min and then others started to... More

We were staying just down the street and looked it up prior to going. The menu attached to UrbanSpoon showed cheeseburgers and pizza. We went to their website and saw that they did actually have a thai menu (no cheeseburgers in sight). It is a very small space that may actually have more seating outside in what looks to be...
