We enjoyed a dinner here after spending an afternoon at Balboa Park. This was the best Vietnamese food we have had since our trip to Vietnam last year. We liked the food in Vietnam so much we bought 3 cookbooks to bring home! The food is delicious, the service is very good and the ambiance is very attractive and pleasant.... More

Discovering Saigon on Fifth was a total surprise and now is a favorite destination for us. It is elegant, has extended hours and parking and one of the best menus in the area. It is family-owned and the family acts as chefs for preparing authentic Vietnamese dishes that are outstanding. In particular we like the Vietnamese beef (sometimes called shaking... More

Great Vietnamese food. Quickly seated and served. Go hungry because you will have a bowl-full. Nice atmosphere, inside and out. Extra nice seating hiding in the back. The servers didn't have a good sense of reaching across the table putting armpits in my face numerous times, but that's my only beef. I think i expected better attention to that detail... More

The restaurant is classy, reasonably price and the best thing is that the food is great :) Another plus is that they are open until 3 AM. I am from Miami and we are used to have restaurants opened 24 hours or until morning.

Visited during a recent San Diego vacation. Creative menu with some different twists on usual Vietnamese food and interesting presentation. Decent prices for what you get. Very good service. A good find. Small quibble: While the building it's in is on Fifth, the restaurant entrance is around the corner on University and not immediately visible from Fifth.

Our visit was based on the recommend of a friend in the area: "Best Vietnamese food in the area." It was very good, so that may be. I cannot compare with others here. However, compared with others in the US I have visited, it was good and the menu was interesting! I had the tamarind soup, since I never saw... More

This is an elegant restaurant with gracious service and excellent food. We especially like their Beef broth Pho. Highly recommended. (Don't be frightened by the look of the restaurant. You can have two bowls of Pho and spend less than $10 per person!) Also open very late!
