Decent service

The place was clean and decent when I arrived. The service was fine, but I found The food a bit too greasy. Overall it was Ok.

We've been going to this Sam Woo for a decade and we knew this is not a service oriented place, but it has gotten worse - and that is saying a lot. Yesterday surpassed all previously bad service lows, after waiting 10 minutes to be seated in a near empty restaurant, waiting another 10 or so minutes to get menus,... More

The restaurant is in the back of a 99Ranch Market store. The BBQ Pork is great. One order is plenty for2 people but we get 2 orders to take some home. We had seafood fried rice which was tasty but the rice seems not so fried. That order was plenty for 2 also.

All Sam Woo locales are all about the same. You always get fairly average Cantonese cuisine, poor service, crowded sitting and no ambiance. Nothing special to write home about.

Service is hit and miss. Don't expect to be checked on. If you need anything, flag them over. This is pretty typical of asian customer service. I always ask for no MSG or excessive sauce. Emphasis is on Hong Kong style of cooking. Generous portions for the value. Cash only. No outside food including their take-out.

Typical rude service. Tasty food but very greasy. Tables are always sticky because they use a dirty wet towel to wipe it down. The seats are dirty too. Not a very pleasant dining experience. Take out is fine but they don't pack it well and the food spilled everywhere. Their take out food is good. They give a lot for... More

Oh boy ! The pork noodle soup is stocked with both. On a chilly& rainy day in San Diego it hits the spot. My server who has seen here before seated me & took my order. There's a reason why I keep coming back along with many others. It's because the food is always prepared fresh & hot & so good.

When I am in San Diego I always make at least one stop here for lunch and an occasional dinner. Food is alway great and the entertainment of shopping at the Ranch 99 makes this a must! If you have never experienced this you must. Just remember to bring cash for they are a cash only business. If you forget... More
