Troy's was in the northern end of the city away from touristy Downtown. It is very popular with locals for good reason. We had Groupons, and the waiter took both. My husband ordered beef kabobs and had the avologadamo soup. I had a Greek salad and combination plate with tzadiki, fresh, warm pita bread, chicken kabobs, thin-sliced beef, spanakopita, and... I hear the other meals are great too but breakfast is so well done I just can't pry myself away. However, I must say, a recent change in the corned beef hash has forced me to order other items. It used to be fresh corned beef with crispy edges and yummy onions, etc. Now it's like patties from a can... More

Family owned and operated, this tucked away place in the Clairemont Square reminds me of diners on the east coast. Good variety, always fresh and great service. What a hard working group of friendly people! E very time you go in, someone knows someone else! It is a great place for people watching! I love their breakfasts, not bad on... More

Troy's Family Restaurant is the kind of place locals in the neighborhood go to. It's family owned and the owners are a regular presence - pouring coffee, seating guests, bussing tables as needed. Go there just a couple of times and the waitresses get to know you. It's tucked away in Clairemont Square Shopping Center and there's plenty of parking... More

This type of restaurant was prevalent in the 50's, 60's and part of the 70's. That is, Family owned and operated. The service is great, waitresses must be the most hardworking employees around, and they do their job with great enthusiasm. Food's fresh and tasty and prepared fairly close to homemade as possible. Many seniors like this establishment as the... More

Excellent Service, food and atmosphere. Plenty of parking and many shops surround this place. The menu is varied with great daily specials. Only soft drinks and coffe are served. Hope you enjoy.

When a restaurant becomes so familiar and so comfortable that it feels like part of the family , one is clearly wary about recommending it highly to everyone, lest it become too popular; that popularity then coming at the expense of one’s own enjoyment of the place. This could easily become the case for Troy’s Family Restaurant, a favorite of... More
