Nothing Fancy - Delicious Fresh Food

This place was recommended by family and friends. We weren't aware you wait in line to order then you can pick a table to eat. Very casual. If you are flexible, you can order your food to go and eat anywhere - beach, car, standing outside the restaurant! The selection was fresh fish and you choose... read more

This is a place I would be willing to make a detour just to come eat and it is also a place I will earmark as a must-go for all future trips to San Diego. The fish is so fresh! Definitely worth the long lines and no one cares for the plastic cutlery. We tried the kids sized fish and... More

Unexpected and unexpectedly wonderful. My husband and I went here for dinner on a friend's recommendation. We were a little underwhelmed when we first walked in... it wasn't what we expected. But, we lined up, placed our order and found a table. Within minutes we had a platter of the most wonderfully fresh oysters, and before we were finished, we... More

This restaurant serves some AMAZING seafood! While it appears to be "fast food" because you have to stand in line (get there early for dinner if you don't want to wait) to order your food and have it delivered to your table, the quality of the seafood and the delicious preparation of same quickly remove those thoughts from your mind.... Every once in a while you find the place that does it well when it comes to fish. This is one of those places. It is small, casual, and as the sign says, it is not a fast food place but every dish is a delight. 6 of us went and everyone said it was the best food we had... More

We did need to wait in line for some time, but it was worth it. You give your order and they bring you your food. I had a salad with excellent shrimp (they called them medium, but I'd consider them large to jumbo). The bleu cheese dressing was by far the best I have ever had! Prices were very reasonable... I am a local. The seafood is always fresh caught. The owners themselves are fshermen. I have read some disappointing reviews and do not understands them. I have never had a disappointing meal. The menu is very easy to understand. Order a Taco, a salad, a plate or a sandwhich. Choose your fish and how you want it and that... More

what a place - be prepared to get in line but its definitely worth the wait, we visited 3 time when we were in San Diego, the selection of fresh seafood was to die for and everything we tried was superb not set up as a fancy restaurant indeed they sold fish from the fish counter to shoppers. as a... We showed up around 5pm and stood in line for about 45 minutes before we could order. There is no host/hostess taking names and giving wait times. You wait in line until you get to the counter and then can be seated. TIP: call ahead and place your order over the phone. You can bypass the line and pick up... More

Well I can say is get there early, the line gets big fast. Service is great and the line goes fast, but there is limited seating. We had the clam chowder and it was ok I have had better, but I came for the fish. We also had 3 fish taco's 1 local halibut, 1 Opah, 1 Black Seabass. WOW... More
