Our friends suggested to go there because of the variety of fresh seafood. The line was long but it was worth the wait. The food came out fast, hot and large portions. My wife had the salad with grilled fresh snapper, she said it was good but needed seasoning. I had calamari steak seasoned in chipotle marinated, came out cut... More

Ended up going here as it was featured on "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives" and we were not disappointed. I think we lucked out as we went on a Saturday late dinner when it was raining so we did not have to wait more than 10mins before our order was in. Had the fish tacos and calamari....both fantastic! Definitely stop in... More

As soon as I got to Blue Water I was worried. A long line of people going out the door and no hostess or other sign of organization. I would have left immediately but I had been given a $50 gift certificate so I decided to wait in the line. It was a bad decision. The evening went downhill from... More

Our second visit to Blue Water was just as good, maybe even better than the first! This time we went early (before 6) and had a much shorter wait. The fresh fish counters say it all--you feel like you are getting your meal straight from the pier. This time I had a salad meal (shrimp and crab combo) and it... More

First of all fellow diners if we are all waiting 30 minutes in a line to just order, the least you can do is decide what you want before at last stepping up to the counter. No ums, no uhs, the board is quite large and easy to see and I'm blind as a bat! Now down to the food:... More

Bottom line up front: GREAT FOOD, pricey but worth it, man that's a long line. It's San Diego and you want seafood. IF THEY DIDNT CATCH IT, THEY DON'T HAVE IT. Too many restaurants in San Diego feed you imported, previously frozen 'sea food'. Blue Water is what a seafood restaurant is supposed to be. Only complaint is that the... More

Looking for some fresh local seafood while in San Diego. Found Blue Water highly recommended and we agree. Choose your fish, then how you want it prepared. Good beer on tap and wine while you wait for it. Line out the door til closing.

BWS has a great variety of very fresh fish at very reasonable prices prepared the way that you like. The only drawback is that it is very small with a line snaking through the entire space and out the door. Get there early or be prepared to wait for a looong time.

Me and my husband visited Blue Water and enjoyed the experience... However, we are international travellers and needed internet badly at the moment. When we asked for the password the hostess said 'we dont give it out' How much could it possibly cost to have a complimentary internet? So that was a bit dissapointing&heartbreaking... Other than this fish tacos were... More

I've ordered a few things at this restaurant, including sashimi quality salmon from the fish market to prepare and serve at home, and it has all been fresh and delicious. There are always long lines for sit down so I usually order over the phone for the menu items and there's never really a line for the fish market. I... More
