I generally liked this place. They had a wide selection of unique dishes, well presented, not standard Japanese. Stylish ambiance: professional, lively but not loud, not typical Gaslamp. One block from convention center. However, they priced themselves rather high (majority of dishes $25-$35, even appetizers). I question the value. This is what we had: Cold dishes: - ikura sushi ***... More

I ate here during a recent business trip. The sushi was pretty good, and the service was great. It is very conveniently located in the Hard Rock Hotel in the Gas Lamp District. I would go back next time I am in the area.

I was in Heaven! At first, I was, "how can a white guy make great sushi?" And "WOW" did he prove me wrong. I was in heaven. Met a nice man to chat with while I was there. Both of us in sales. Good food, great chef, pleasant conversation. What else is there?

We stumbled into Nobu with a random group of strangers. The ambiance, the service and the food were fantastic. A great evening made better by the company of new friends. The staff didn't miss a beat when two extra guests arrived at the table. They accommodated our desire to delight our palettes with great recommendations.

I was looking for a quick bite before heading to the airport, and took the last seat at the sushi bar. A little pricy compared to other places, but you get what you pay for. The sushi was outstanding. One piece of fish better than the next. It would be hard to find better sushi anywhere, so for that alone,... More

The food you can find here can also be found at much cheaper price. With larger quantities. The service is slow for the price they ask.

The food was out of this world. Such attention to detail. I cannot say enough good things about this particular NoBu. This is my second time visiting this restaurant.

We selected this restaurant as our anniversary spot. Heard it was great and it really was. Hard to get over the small portions vs. the price, but if you're a foodie like me, you won't even care. I had yellowtail tartar with caviar to start, it was unbelievable. Then eggplant in soy sauce, a dream. My entree was chilean sea... More

I recently dined at Nobu and was blown away. The subtlety and flavor was wonderful. This restaurant is not cheap, but was worth the price. The food was excellent. The yellowtail sashimi was the best I have ever had. The black cod with sweet miso just melts in your mouth like butter. Restaurant staff were acomodating, knowledgable, and solicitous. I... More

This is my second visit to Nobu San Diego. The food is good, tasty and creative. The service was very slow this time, mainly the beverage service. Overall I would say it is nice but a little overpriced.
