I was skeptical .. But I'm now on board

I've never had a four star taco before. I was a skeptic. But after tasting the shrimp ( very generous - 4 or 5 per taco ) and the scallop ( 4 or 5 per taco ) and the lobster ( 4 or 5 generous fresh pieces ) I'm a believer The key is fresh ingredients and five star service.... read more

My wife loved the food here. The restrooms are very clean. The service was moderate. I didn't enjoy my meal as much as my wife enjoyed hers but they were both very well prepared and it was easy to see that a lot of love went into it. Overall, I'd recommend trying this restaurant.

We travelled to this place because it was recommended as one of the places in San Diego for Mexican food. We all were really disappointed. Fish tacos were dry, guacamole tested like it was made from the powder and tortilla chips were oily. I would not recommend this place to anybody who likes Mexican food.

A trip to San Diego is not complete without a visit to this neighborhood staple. The burritos are without match. Fresh, served quickly. No frills. Seafood burritos are the best here. Lots of fresh salsas. The perfect neighborhood burrito shop!

Small space with great food! The portions (at least for the burritos I had) are a good size so make sure you go hungry. It's a very convenient spot for breakfast, lunch or even a late evening snack.

We were recommended this place by a local we met. We're not big Mexican eaters, so only went because of a combination of the recommendation and a quick check of the reviews. They're all spot on. We both had the scallop burrito. Full of scallops. Drizzle some salsa (mild, medium or hot) on and BOOM - a mouth full of... More

Everything about El Zarape on Park Blvd. (they have another location on Adams Ave.) is absolutely perfect !! I try to go on off-peak times because seating is limited and always full. Every dish I've had I enjoy more than the last.

I think we ended up ordering like 4 Burritos and 10 Tacos that day. Then a special mention to their Salsa. Makes eating nachos worth it!... More

We were in San Diego for a National Home-brewer's conference and while visiting a great bar (next door to this place) we checked the reviews on local places to eat and we ended up here at El Zarape. WOW!!!! First of all they have a very long menu of great sounding burritos so If you don't find ONE that you... More

Agree with previous reviews-little hole in the wall place(seen worse looking places), but good food. Always a line waiting to order. Not a whole lot of seating, so most people got order to go. Food made quickly. Self serve salsa bar. Tortillas were the freshest, softest tortillas we've ever tasted. Shredded beef in burrito was very moist & tender.
