It used to be better, I'm sorry to say

My wife and I had stopped here several years ago and had a very enjoyable meal, so when I spied St. Tropez on my way to Starbucks for breakfast, I eagerly detoured as I prefer to eat local whenever possible. It was disappointing. The pastries in the display case looked droopy and sad. I ordered a... read more

This was our go to breakfast joint whilst in San Diego. Reasonable prices, good service and nice food. Spacious inside with also seating outside. Recommend the Eggs Benedict.. Oh, and the hazelnut coffee is rather splendid according to the other half. It's not in the French Riviera, but it will serve you as good breakfast.

We found the food to be superb. So, why only 3 stars? The ambience was a bit tired and the cafe a bit dated and dirty and the service a bit slow. But, overlooking that, the food. Very, very nice. We started with fresh-squeezed orange juice, a very nice cafe-au-lait, and a delicious chocolate croissant. Yummy. We then shared a... More

I went here for breakfast and it was great! I had eggs, potatoes, fruit, bacon, coffee and a huge cinnamon roll which was more than I could eat for $11.00! They had a great array of pastries that all looked so yummy1

Had a great breakfast. French bread made from croissants. Was so yummy and perfect portion. Service was very good considering there was only one waitress. She kept up and was attentive.

We arrived right at opening and almost left because they weren't really open. This is puzzling since we are from the East Coast and usually when it's time to open , the restauraunt is ready to serve. We waiting a little bit and our waitress was alone and trying to accomodate everyone that came in. Her suggestion to try the... More

We always brunch at St Tropez when visiting San Diego and booked a table for Sunday for a party of 6. (They only take bookings for large parties anyway.) When we arrived, there was no one on the floor, the tables were all occupied and most diners seemed to be waiting for checks. After 5 minutes or so (and the... More

Very convenient to hotel, we ate breakfast here one morning. Food was very good, everyone enjoyed their choices, Crepes and omelettes especially. Despite touting themselves as a bakery, they did not have much of a selection when we were there, weekend morning and restaurant was busy so you would have thought they would have more croissants made. Service was slow... More

Me and my family went here for breakfast. We were quickly seated and a waiter took our drinks. However, the juice is not freshly squeezed. We quickly overlooked that with the reasonable prices and delicious food. We loved the place and are definitely coming back (actually I'm writing this as I'm there for the second time)

As mentioned in other reviews, the food was good. The morning I was there, there was only one server, and she worked as hard as she could, but some people got quite frustrated. If there's a line, it's probably not worth the wait. It was also quite hot inside - I sat outside which seemed cooler.
