Good experience, but not out of this world great

The space of this pancake house is quite small, which is not surprising since it is in downtown San Diego. This is quite a popular place, so we didn't get a table inside even though we arrived @ 9AM on a Monday. But the outside area is covered with heat lamp, so it was not too bad. My advice is,... read more

Fast and excellent service after you get thru the line that almost always is about half hour so don't get there very hungry. The spinach and spanish omelets are OK and we both couldn't finish them they are too big. The german pancake worth the wait its amazing, they bring you butter, lemons and powder sugar and an instructions sheet... More

We had looked up best pancake places in San Diego and this place stood out, we tried to visit one morning but the line was massive so we revisited very early before a day to the zoo. I think that paid off. We did also visit on a second occasion towards 1pm. I can imagine people will have very bad... More

They have the best waffles here! The eggs Benedict was also very tasty! We ordered the strawberry crepes and it was a bit bland. They were also out of Nutella which was disappointing because it would have made the crepes more tasty. There was about a half hour wait when we got there around 10am. I'm not sure how busy... More

This place is definitely worth the wait! Usually have to wait about half an hour to get a table but the line moves quick. I absolutely love the bacon, scrambled eggs and pancakes. Have also tried the SD French Toast. A delicious way to start off the day!

Right next to the Children's Museum in San Diego so we decided to visit. The portions are huge and the pancakes are very greasy (almost 1200 calories per dish). The potato pancakes were not great so don't get that. Thin Swedish pancakes were fine and the dollar pancakes are about 4 inches wide. Service wasn't superb but it wasn't bad.... More

Richard Walker's was about a 10 minute walk from our hotel (Manchester Grand Hyatt). The line was long when we arrived, but we were seated in less than 10 minutes. The waitress was very attentive and our omelets were delivered quick and hot. We didn't feel rushed to leave after eating either. We recommend it - I hope to return... More

Richard Walker's Pancake House is AWESOME! Thank you for opening a restaurant here. We missed our hometown (Chicago) foods. The kids split the Apple pancake...it was delicious. We split the mushroom omelet with the mushroom sherry sauce. So light and fluffy; yet filling. Always a go to spot. Our taste buds & stomachs thank you again.

Apple Bake Pancake was amazing. Maybe these are German style pancakes, if so, the Germans deserve credit for more than just great cars! They also have traditional pancakes. Thick cut bacon is great. Going back today!

I always go to this place when in San Diego. Wonderful staff, great food--my daughter always orders the Dutch Baby--a mini version of the German Pancake. They have homemade salsa which is great with eggs and homemade Corned Beef Hash, which is rare. Very yummy!
