Description: Casa de Reyes offers awarding winning, world-class Mexican comfort food! Located within Old Town San Diego State Historic Park, you’ll enjoy traditional Mexican dining in a lush garden courtyard. There’s also free live entertainment, strolling mariachis, folklórico dancing, year-round events, and more! Casa de Reyes is located on the site of an adobe home built in 1823, one of the first adobe homes in San Diego. Our restaurant is named in honor of one of the home’s first owners, Doña Maria de los Reyes Ybañez de Dominguez. Doña Maria made her small, humble adobe a comfortable and welcoming home for friends and guests, and so do we.

Casa de Reyes occupies a picturesque courtyard dining area in the heart of Old Town San Diego. It is surrounded by small shops, and there often is live music at the tiny open air theatre next door in the evenings. The food is standard Mexican-American fare, but very well prepared, with fresh tortillas made on the spot, served in generous... More

We stopped in for lunch and I ordered the enchilada combo and my spouse ordered the carnitas plate. The food was good, service was slow and poor, we had to ask where our order was several times before it finally arrived. The food was good but nothing special, nice atmosphere was quite nice sitting out on the patio al fresco.

Great food and great atmosphere! This restaurant suits perfect in the area that has all the colorful and cheerful vibe. Great tasting food...the restaurant was pretty crowded but service was quick. The atmosphere here itself lifts up the whole casual dining experience to different level. Margaritas were amazing!! Loved the bar decorations and the flags and mexican artifacts on the... More

A friend recommended this place, it can be a long wait so make a reservation. They have a unique app for the wait list which is kind of a pain to use si Ce you have to signup and download. The food is good, nothing mind blowing but fun for casual Mexican and drinks. I always like the Margarita pitcher.... More

The tortillas were fresh and hot, the soup good, the tacos better than average. Wandering mariachis to entertain, sweet waitress, in a great outdoor environment. The menu has Gluten free items listed, and they will substitute if necessary. For a holiday lunch, not much to complain about. We had the Pozole, carnitas tacos. My husband said the rice had no... Large outdoor Mexican restaurant on the edge of the park area. The menu was diverse and fairly priced and the ambiance was definitely fiesta themed. Nicely done and still suitable for both adult only and family groups. The service lacked to say the least. They were very busy which is fine but they wouldn't seat us at empty tables as... More

Walking into the restaurant I thought that this place was great. It is a whole courtyard which has a stage for entertainment and small shops with touristy items. I have to say that the atmosphere is the best part of this restaurant. The food was not that great. It wasn't bad, but I have had better Mexican than this many... More
