Before our cruise to Mexico we had two meals here and were very impressed with all aspects of the restuarant from the Margaritas to the tacitos. After eating here we went on a cruise to Mexico and ate in serveral restuarants there and we thought this restuarant was very authentic and was as good or better than those in Mexico!... more

Very interesting reading the reviews on tripadvisor. If anybody believes this is 'great mexican food', they simply don't know mexican food. It isn't authentic and it isn't good, from the salsa to the beans. The sauce on the burrito was awful; tasted like it came straight out of a can. Service was friendly but substandard. For instance the waitress forgot... more

While visiting the historic districts of San Diego, a retailer recommended Casa De Reyes for their fish tacos. The Mahi Mahi fillet was fresh, the corn tortilla was not greasy, and the sauce was mild. The entire taco was dusted with feta cheese...I loved it! The smoky beans and rice were a great compliment to the meal. We also couldn't... more

The food was very clean & not greasy at all. The chicken tacos & carne asada were great. They have a Mariachi trio who are fantastic. They... more

We were a little apprehensive about eating at this restaurant, as it seemed a bit touristy. However, we were pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was nice and the food was pretty good and quite cheap. It's not the best Mexican restaurant in Old Town, but it's up there. more

The food was pretty good despite authenticity. The locals won't say it's mexican food but for those from out of town, it's a good way to segue into the world of delicious mexican food. Go for the specials of the day, it'll save you a few bucks. Otherwise, the meal might run to about 10$/plate. The food itself was quite... more

The food here is pretty typical Cal-Mex, but it is tasty enough, the atmosphere is fun, and service is very good. Don't expect gourmet, and you should do just fine here. more

The food here is really good! The taquitos are the best!!! Nice atmosphere too, if you have out of town guests - they'll definitely be pleased. more

This place is so festive and lively! Definately one of my favorites in SD. The margaritas are endless and the Mariachis rock! more
