Description: Casa de Reyes offers awarding winning, world-class Mexican comfort food! Located within Old Town San Diego State Historic Park, you’ll enjoy traditional Mexican dining in a lush garden courtyard. There’s also free live entertainment, strolling mariachis, folklórico dancing, year-round events, and more! Casa de Reyes is located on the site of an adobe home built in 1823, one of the first adobe homes in San Diego. Our restaurant is named in honor of one of the home’s first owners, Doña Maria de los Reyes Ybañez de Dominguez. Doña Maria made her small, humble adobe a comfortable and welcoming home for friends and guests, and so do we.

We (adult family) ate on a Sunday evening in August. It was super crowded. They said the wait time was 45 mins. but it was a full hour. But still the later hour was better for me less sun & heat. It's gorgeously festive with costumed hosts & fantastically decorated terrace. It's all outside. The menu choice is not great.... More

We enjoyed the views and the atmosphere was lots of fun. Our waiter was excellent and the food OK. The guacamole was brag-worthy. The fajita was typical.

We went back to the Casa because it was such good food and service were great last last time we were in town. As we hoped it was still delicious. The service is great and I really liked their new way of texting you when your table was ready. I think we will be eating here everytime we are in... More

If you are looking for great food, great service and great atmosphere, you've come to the right place. Everything was authentic, from the food to the servers to the music. What got me was that the same owner also owns Barra Barra next door which we went for dinner and the food and service was horrible. Casa de Reyes is... More

Knowing we wouldn’t be hungry for awhile we walked around a bit, exploring the Old Town San Diego State Park. We really had no idea what to expect of the area but it ended up being quite cool. Of course you have the typical touristy shops but there are a ton of restaurants. After awhile we came upon Casa de... More

Great food in a beautiful garden setting. Oh, great margaritas too. My husband judges a Mexican restaurant by the chile verde. And he said it was terrific. The waitress couldn't have been nicer and it was clear she loves her job.

Visited Casa De Reyes on a San Diego weekender - food, atmosphere and service were every bit as good as the last trip we made to San Diego three years ago. The best just stays that way. Margaritas were smooth and tart; entrees were outstanding. Outdoor ambiance is aided by strolling musicians and the magnificent courtyard setting. Servers were attentive... More

This place is in a town square with Mexican decor all around the place. The ambiance was fantastic. The food was delicious, the service was good and the portion sizes were generous. Their salsa is delicious. The mango margarita was yum and the flour tortillas were tasty. Would definitely recommend this place especially since the mirachis are playing in the... More

We ate outside on a lovely day; the patio is pretty. A fine margarita and very good fish tacos - a simple meal but everything was good and the service was excellent. We'll go back.
