Casa de Reyes offers awarding winning, world-class Mexican comfort food! Located within Old Town San Diego State Historic Park, you’ll enjoy traditional Mexican dining in a lush garden courtyard. There’s also free live entertainment, strolling mariachis, folklórico dancing, year-round events, and more! Casa de Reyes is located on the site of an adobe home built in 1823, one of the first adobe homes in San Diego. Our restaurant is named in honor of one of the home’s first owners, Doña Maria de los Reyes Ybañez de Dominguez. Doña Maria made her small, humble adobe a comfortable and welcoming home for friends and guests, and so do we.

Great authentic Mexican

I am not a fan of Mexican food by any stretch, but during a guided tour of San Diego, we ended up in Old Town at lunch time, and our guide recommended this restaurant. While my thought that the three food groups (meat, bean, bread) remains unchanged, I found the food to be delicious in its version... read more

We've akways been thru here to shop but never ate there. The food was really good snd they have a really good basic margarita, not too strong, just right. Our server was so nice and attentive to us as well.

Loved it. I thought the food was really good. Wish I could go back for more now! I ordered the bean and cheese tostada with shrimp, and it was delicious. The appetizer platter was great too! Quite busy when we were there on a Sunday, but we were able to get in quickly for a table of 2.

Drove around for about 20 min looking for a place to park. Even with reservations, still had to wait almost 40 min to get a table. Got your staple chicken enchiladas and it was dry. Probably won't return for the food. Will visit the nearby shops though. Wait staff was mostly prompt.

We were exploring Old Town and decided to sit down for some dinner. The atmosphere is fun with the mariachi bands playing and stores to explore nearby. The food was not good at all. Poorly made, greasy, and not worth the $15/plate. We couldn't finish the food and left very disappointed. Opt for a snack at a stand or sample... More

We like to come here ever year when we take our trip to San Diego. The food is delicious and our server very attentive and nice. I had the chicken fajitas, very flavorful and a huge helping. My husband had a combination platter so he could taste many things! The patio is a perfect setting to hear the music and... More

Have been several times over the years; sometimes with just a couple people and sometimes with parties as large as ten. They will accommodate as required. Always a toss up for Mexican food in San Diego, but this is our go-to place. In Old Town.
