Description: Casa de Reyes offers awarding winning, world-class Mexican comfort food! Located within Old Town San Diego State Historic Park, you’ll enjoy traditional Mexican dining in a lush garden courtyard. There’s also free live entertainment, strolling mariachis, folklórico dancing, year-round events, and more! Casa de Reyes is located on the site of an adobe home built in 1823, one of the first adobe homes in San Diego. Our restaurant is named in honor of one of the home’s first owners, Doña Maria de los Reyes Ybañez de Dominguez. Doña Maria made her small, humble adobe a comfortable and welcoming home for friends and guests, and so do we.

We decided to invite about 20 people to a last minute get together . As we knew we would be paying for the bulk of this meal, we racked our brains to find a restaurant in which we would not be spending several hundreds of dollars on bottles of wine, plus several hundreds on appetizer, salads, and $25+ entrees and... The perfect San Diego experience is eating on the patio of this restaurant. Perfect for families and couples. The food is delicious, good services, great drinks, and just perfect atmosphere. This is what San Diego vacationing is all about.

Very busy and they don't take reservations. The staff was bust too but tried to take care of us promptly. I had the chicken crispy tacos. They were very good. The cheese enchiladas were average. Chips and salsa were average. Outdoor eating. Very good for kids.

Don't be scared off by the touristy location in the heart of Old Town. This place is worthwhile: the chips are good and crunchy, the margaritas cold (they even have a "skinny" one for those of us who are watching carbs!), and the server was nice enough to warn us away from ordering the medium drinks, saying that they're served... The atmosphere of Casa de Reyes is why you would return. The live music, the festivity, and the colorful surroundings were fun. The food is charmingly presented, as well. But the fajitas and chile relleno we ordered were just so-so on taste, and the salsa wasn't great. I'd visit the Casa again for shopping and a look-see, but would find... More

My wife and I stumbled on Casa De Reyes unexpectedly while going through "Old Town." The environment was wonderful! Little shops, wine and beer tasting, live Mexican music and décor. The food was very good and served quickly. It was a delightful experience.

I think all the good reviews this restaurant is getting has a lot to do with the setting. Don't get me wrong, the atmosphere is great. I liked the live music, the buildings, the decorations, and the whole idea if eating under the stars. It has the potential to be a really romantic restaurant. But the wasn't the case for... More

It is a really fun atmosphere here. We had lunch here. The mariachi band was fun. My kids loved the frozen fruit punch and lemonade on the kids menu. I had the shrimp wrap and salad off the seasonal menu, and it was awesome! My husband had a burrito and said it was ok. The food was really slow coming... More

First, the good: We ate in the patio (outdoor) area and it was lovely. Being a tourist destination, this restaurant is popular, so it was busy. The service was good; our server was busy but got our drinks & food to us in a timely manner. There was a mariachi band just outside the entrance and that was perfect -... More

"Excellent" family fun restaurant with wonderful patio seating & delicious food & drinks. The service is impeccable along with the scenery & outdoor entertainment of mexican folklore singing & dancing. The setting beautifully changes into the night as the lights & tiki torches illuminate the lovely garden plants & majestic trees. We highly suggest visiting this restaurant as its location... More
