Description: Casa de Reyes offers awarding winning, world-class Mexican comfort food...
Casa de Reyes offers awarding winning, world-class Mexican comfort food! Located within Old Town San Diego State Historic Park, you’ll enjoy traditional Mexican dining in a lush garden courtyard. There’s also free live entertainment, strolling mariachis, folklórico dancing, year-round events, and more! Casa de Reyes is located on the site of an adobe home built in 1823, one of the first adobe homes in San Diego. Our restaurant is named in honor of one of the home’s first owners, Doña Maria de los Reyes Ybañez de Dominguez. Doña Maria made her small, humble adobe a comfortable and welcoming home for friends and guests, and so do we.

We had been here a few years and had good memory of that visit. We were not disappointed. Very authentic Mexican both in the setting and food presentation. See many people leaving with take home so gives you an idea of good portions. Price is comparable to similar locations in the area. We will be... read more

My wife and I visited Casa De Reyes last night. We hadn't been to Old Town in a very long time, since most of the restaurants changed. It was our date night and my wife wanted to try it out. She had seen some reviews so she called to find out what music there would be on the stage. She... More

Visited for dinner with my two granddaughters (ages 2 and 4), daughter in law, and my mother. Slight issue finding the restaurant as our GPS was not aware of street repair that closed the lane it wanted us to travel on. Parked in a public parking lot and walked through Old Town. The historic buildings were closed, but the Mercado... More

Rushed service with the staff clearing up around us. Food was quite good, very fresh and tasty. Plenty of other options around that area which are tastier

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere outside. However, if you go at peak dinner time expect a long wait. They do not take reservations. We had a 60 minute wait. Thought it would be ok as we listened to the outdoor music on stage for a period of time. We finally got our seating and it was inside in a... More

I always enjoy coming here when we're in San Diego. The outdoor environment is enjoyable along with the music and overall atmosphere. On occasions the food is lacking, but that's not the sole reason we go here.

For many years we had eaten at this restaurant and been pleased (Casa de Pico?) ... Many changes in Old Town San Diego and hardly none for the better... Prices are expensive and a one dollar charge for extra tortilla... The only plus was good and friendly service...

The large outdoor patio and atmosphere are nice. However, the food leaves much to be desired. Service was so-so. Like others have commented, they are alright, but they don't make you feel very "welcome". High-priced for the plain (blah) food that you get. I would not return.

On the plus side, this is a fun place to dine in San Diego's Old Town. Maybe it should be on the Old Town Bucket List, even if just for the atmosphere. Open terrace seating on a bright, warm San Diego day, with lots of colorful decor makes for a good brunch or lunch. The menu leaves some gaps, but... More

The fresh tortillas were being made when we walked by....so of course, we had to stop for lunch. It was typical Mexican food, not the best...and not the worst. I don't think you can go wrong here.
