Casa de Reyes offers awarding winning, world-class Mexican comfort food! Located within Old Town San Diego State Historic Park, you’ll enjoy traditional Mexican dining in a lush garden courtyard. There’s also free live entertainment, strolling mariachis, folklórico dancing, year-round events, and more! Casa de Reyes is located on the site of an adobe home built in 1823, one of the first adobe homes in San Diego. Our restaurant is named in honor of one of the home’s first owners, Doña Maria de los Reyes Ybañez de Dominguez. A popular tourist spot.

The fresh tortillas were being made when we walked by....so of course, we had to stop for lunch. It was typical Mexican food, not the best...and not the worst. I don't think you can go wrong here.

Had a great lunch at this place, which is in San Diego's Old Town Historic Park. For that reason, it's rather touristy but it really has a neat décor and a great outdoor patio where I enjoyed the usual complimentary chips and salsa as an appetizer. For lunch, I ordered the chile relleno which was just OK as the fried,... More

Came here for dinner, ordered pre-dinner drinks only to be told after that this restaurant does not do "taco Tuesday", as many restaurants in the area do. So we simply had chips, salsa and margaritas, all of which were ok but nothing to write home about. Service good.

The service was okay, but nothing special. The staff was passingly friendly, but not super welcoming. You could tell the customers were just a job to them. The food was okay, but kind of bland. More the food you would find in a tourist restaurant... nothing too spicy to scare off the tourists, but something to give them the feel... More

This was our second visit and will likely be our last. Our server Victoria was so slow and made repeated mistakes. I asked for extra ice I got almost no ice. The cup of ice took 15 minutes to make it back to the table. She took forever to take our order and then it took forever for our food... More

My partner and I went to dinner here because it was suggested by a friend. I honestly had moderate expectations because it screamed tourist trap. However the food was very good, the service was very friendly and FAST! My drink was potent and my dinner was delicious. To top it off they had live entertainment. We will be back, without... More

I haven't been to San Diego in almost 25 years & took a friend to Old Town who had never been to California. I have fond memories of this place & said wouldn't it be funny if that restaurant was still there? Well it is & it is just how I remember it! Giant fishbowl (that's what I call them)... More

We recently ate here on a Thursday evening. The restaurant was very busy, but the service was fast and efficient. Our food was very good, about what we'd expect in terms of typical Mexican food. The portions were plentiful, so much so that I couldn't eat all of my rice and beans. There was live music playing part of the... More

I've been here multiple times and have always been pleased with the service and the food. The chips and salsa are good to get you going. The margaritas are very delicious. We got the La Bandero de mexico(3 enchilada plate) which was killer delicious, the pozole soup which was tasty, and a bean and cheese burrito. All of the dishes... More
