We are regulars at La Pinata! The food is wonderful, service friendly and prices reasonable. Our out-of-town guests always enjoy a lunch or dinner and request to go back on subsequent trips. It is very authentic and cozy, with pinatas hanging from the ceiling. One of the wait staff was voted "best in San Diego"! A very fun experience, as... More

This restaurant is a regular for our family. Founded in 1920, it is also the oldest restaurant in Old Town. The food is great and it is one of the few restaurants in Old Town that has its own parking lot! That is a big plus particularly in summer when the crowds are largest. The staff is very friendly. You... More

I have been going to "La Pin" forever!! As a native San Diegan I have had Mexican food my whole life...and always return to my favorite, over and over. Located in "Old Town" it is the oldest restaurant in San Diego! And it has ample, free parking which is un heard of for this area! But it is the food,... More

The food at the restaurant is very good, and very reasonably priced. If you get there before 4 pm for the lunch specials, even better. Their Chilli Rellenos are the BEST. They do not come with any meals and have to be ordered ala carte. They are an option with rice and beans on the Friday lunch special. Fresh, homemade,... More

Not much different from other Mexican food places, but it was fresh and well-prepared. Staff was attentive and friendly. Good location to walk around after in Old Town to help your food settle.

This is a charming restaurant in the Old Town section of San Diego. The food was delicious (steak and chicken fajitas) for $10 each, and the service was prompt and friendly. Before we went in, we ran into a couple who said they had been going there for 50 years - a great and well-deserved endorsement!

Authentic Mexican food with large portions, no wait, & decent prices. Apparently the oldest Mexican restaurant in the Old Town San Diego area. The staff was very friendly and our food came out quickly and exactly how we ordered it. We chose to sit outside in the heated patio area. They also have free parking.

The food is average and the service is slow - at best. To get a fork - over 5 minutes after the food was served, which took forever. Great eating it cold. If we weren't starving at that point I probably would have walked out.

Bad customer service. As soon as we walk in we told one of the waitresses that we needed a high chair she said ok..... we're waiting and waiting and she never got back so we told our new waitress. And she brought it but then... Waitress forgot our drinks and brought them when we were done eating and said, "time... More
