By every measure, our recent dinner at Island Prime was top notch. Attentive, polite, knowledgeable (and not intrusive) service--prompt, but not hurried. Our meals were prepared precisely as we had requested and could not have been tastier. The view was gorgeous. Although the restaurant was very quite busy, the physical layout (distance between tables, materials used in decor) ensures that... More

I went with a group of coworkers and everybody enjoyed themselves. We had several appitizers. First was the Rice Paper Prawns which were very tasty, but seemed kind of small and thin to be prawns. Next we had the Shrimp Cocktail, which was decent sized shrimp, (actually bigger than the prawns). We also had the Chicken Pot Stickers which were... More

I found Island Prime online & made a reservation for 6. We tried several appetizers, oysters & escargo were excellent. The lobster bisque was the best I have EVER had. We tried several styles of steaks, the King crab and scallops with sides of crispy broccoli and mushrooms. The quality of the food was impeccable, any sauce can be requested... More

We had lunch here and everything was tasty and delicious. We had a table with a nice view of downtown across the bay. There apparently was a little mix up on who was assigned to our table so we had to flag someone down to take our order. Once we did that, service was excellent and efficient.

Restaurant is pretty, has views of skyline, and although I requested a view window table several times due to a birthday, we got a very "mediocre" table in back with only partial view. Although I looked at menu before we made reservation, I guess I did not look close enough, as for me, it was not good. I try to... More

Star ratings sometimes have to be defined. This is not some high end French over priced bistro. It is a great place not to be missed on any trip to San Diego! Wonderful food, terrific service and one of the best views with the sunset on the bay that you will find anywhere makes this a perfect place to eat,... More

Free parking and lots of it, pleasant efficient maître d, quick friendly service, nice drinks-chardonnay, margaritas, mai tais, possibly the best fried onion rings available (be sure to ask for the BBQ sauce and the ranch dressing instead of ketchup), and absolutely gorgeous view. Even on Saturday afternoon the place is buzzing and running like a top. We have visited... More

I celebrated my Birthday at Prime. It turned out to be the best meal we had in our 4 day trip to San Diego. Ala Carte and $125 it was perfection. We had our best Pina Coladas in San Diego followed by a great meal. The portion sizes were great and the food was perfection. You wont leave hungry Make... More

Had lunch with old friends recently. We sat in the more casual C-level side outside on the deck. You could not have better city and bay views! The "tall ships" were having a sail over Labor Day weekend! All the food that went by looked fantastic. My salmon ceaser salad was wonderful on a hot day. The Thai steak salad... More
