A group of 5 adults and 2 children went to Red Pearl Kitchen on New Year's Eve for dinner. The restaurant is in the Gaslamp District and it offers a contemporary decor. We ordered several appetizers and main courses and sampled all of them. Every dish was well prepared, well presented and delicious. The service was excellent, attentive and pleasant.... More

We like this restaurant, but since it is in the Gaslamp District, we hate the parking so we don't go as often as we might. The sign outside isn't spectacular and I have always thought that a better sign would attract more patrons. Last night we finally went after we had heard that the menu had changed. Sad to see... My wife and I had dinner at the Red Pearl Kitchen, an Asian restaurant, on November 19, 2012. We had a reservation. We showed up on time and were promptly seated. The restaurant is nicely decorated and very cozy. The menu consists of appetizers and entrees, both of which are served family style. My favorite appetizer is the chicken wings... More

I called the restaurant to make a reservation for dinner with a couple of my coworkers who were in San Diego. I made the reservation without any issue. We showed up on time only to be told we needed to finish our meals within an hour and 15 minutes. That did not set the appropriate tone for us. We had... More

I ordered the pistachio crusted Ahi Tuna with plum sauce which was excellent. Very friendly people and atmosphere.

Forget the Slanted Door in SF, China Doll in Sydney and all the others in Seattle and Vancouver. This little gem shocked me as I did not expect the sort if top gastronomic meal that I heartily enjoyed... So much so that I over indulged and I am on the way to the gym. Great cool yet cozy atmosphere with... More

Monday evening - restaurant half empty, but lacking atmosphere anyway. Food was not good at all and service was sloppy as we even were assumed to eat from the pan for lack of plates. Fried calamari was just that, no taste at all. No point in choosing this restaurant if in San Diego.

This restaurant was recommended to us by hotel staff at our Gaslamp Quarter hotel -The Palomar. We arrived quite hungry , after a busy day of sightseeing early -around 4 pm, and sadly dinner was not being served until 5 pm. The bartender suggested we come in for Happy Hour and nosh on a selection of their specially priced appetizers... More

Took our family of 5 here. Really cool atmosphere. Noodle dishes and dim sum great. Crispy salmon and shaken Kobe beef average. Great service. Probably would not return.

Our family of five ate here while on holiday in the states. We hadn't read or heard any reviews about this restaurant before we went so didn't know what to expect. The food was really delicious, in fact the best meal we had in the two weeks we were there and it didn't seem quite as expensive as some of... More
