This restaurant has been described as a local gem, however, it is a gem in the raw form. My wife and I started with the Kung Po Calamari, that was rather bland, certainly not the least bit spicy as one would expect for Kung Po. We made the mistake of ordering 2 bouillabaisses where the chance of praising at least... More

We went to Vagabond on a recent Sunday evening with the intention of having dinner. We ordered, and the waitress return to the table to tell us they didn't have what we ordered. We chose something else, only to have the same thing happen again. And again. One person in our party had only an appetizer because of their lack... More

This restaurant serves excellent, eclectic, worldly dishes with seasonal changes. The staff is superb. The ambiance is wonderful. This place has outdoor seating.

The Vagabond Restaurant is one of my favorite restaurants in San Diego. The food is always delicious and the atmosphere stimulating. Located in the quiet South Park area of San Diego, it is readily accessible from downtown ~7 minutes, and the No. 2 bus from downtown stops right across the street. The owner is from the South of France and... More

This restaurant was highly recommended by our hairdresser and we were so disappointed. Made reservations for 4 of us, 2 teenagers and 2 female adult friends. Waiter was very condescending to our teenage girls, who have quite sophisticated culinary experiences. The food was average, appetizer came and shortly afterward came our salad, but main course took a bit longer than... More

Stopped by here on Saturday night after wandering around trying to find something unique. This was it. Food was well presented, well prepared and well served. Staff is personable and knowledgeable. Everything we tried was excellent. Ambiance is great and there is outdoor dining, too.

This is a gem of a restaurant set in the neighborhood of South Park. Unique menu of very good food as well as a very warm and cozy place. Terrific owner and staff as well. World cuisine in a casual place with some very good beers on tap and wines by the glass to boot.

We went here during San Diego Restaurant Week, when you can get a 3 course meal at a special price. The food was good, and the portions were very big (especially the apps & deserts.) The dark chocalate tart I had was the size of a big piece of pie, and the pork belly and beans appetizer was entree sized!... More

The Vagabond Kitchen is excellent. I have had great service, the food, especially the mussels, are phenomenal. It is a cute place to have dinner and drinks. They have a very nice happy hour and the bartender was very knowledgeable of wines and it was a great bargain. We've only eaten there early (5pm or so) so we've had no... More
