Birthday breakfast

If you want to have a breakfast that transports you to Paris for the morning come here for the ambience. Did I mention they have amazing food, coffee and service? My favorite place in San Diego for a special breakfast with the girlfriends who enjoy coffee in a beautiful spot

We came here on the recommendation of the Lonely Planet guide which gives Café Chole a special mention. A small restaurant on a street corner in the East Village area of central San Diego, with a French theme to the menu, but there the similarity ends. The design is not authentic French and certainly the waiter spoke no French at... More

We ate here twice one weekend. The brunch was so delicious, we decided to come back for dinner and bring a friend. We had two wonderful meals. At brunch, I had the carmelized onion tart. It was so delicious, not too cheezy, with wonderful puff pastry. The arugula salad on the side was a perfect balance. My companions enjoyed their... More

We had brunch there before leaving for the airport. The place seems to be very popular with locals and the food and service were absolutely wonderful

Stopped on the way home from the airport. Servers were excellent and cheerful. Muscles and corn pudding were awesome. Wanted to try everything in the menu. Thanks Chef Devon Junkin!!!

Everything about this place was quintessential French with finesse from the charming decor to the perfectly executed sage-truffle beurre blanc sauce. I felt like I was sitting in a Parisian cafe.

Just down the street from an outstanding production of "Interludes" by Claire Christine Sargenti, we discovered this practically-perfect-in-every-way French style cafe. Intimate tables for two, three or four, both inside and at the sidewalk. Wait staff was very attentive but didn't rush us through our meal. Best flavor combos with my tile fish, including fresh gooseberries. I enjoy a menu... More

Had lunch there a few weeks ago with a family members who had recently been there for dinner. While waiting a bit for a table we chatted up one of the owners who herself was taking a lunch break (enjoying a plate of large fantastic looking mussels meuniere) in the little bar that anchors this charming little establishment. We learned... More

The rating indicates $$, but this was a pricey dinner for my husband and me. He has the half chicken with roasted potatoes - $28. I had a beet salad - $14. His meal portions were generous, and he was able to share some of the chicken. My beet salad may have included one actual beet, cleverly presented but rather... More
