Great Pairing with Fringe Festival Play

Just down the street from an outstanding production of "Interludes" by Claire Christine Sargenti, we discovered this practically-perfect-in-every-way French style cafe. Best flavor combos with my tile fish, including fresh gooseberries. I enjoy a menu... More

Had lunch there a few weeks ago with a family members who had recently been there for dinner. While waiting a bit for a table we chatted up one of the owners who herself was taking a lunch break (enjoying a plate of large fantastic looking mussels meuniere) in the little bar that anchors this charming little establishment. We learned... More

The rating indicates $$, but this was a pricey dinner for my husband and me. He has the half chicken with roasted potatoes - $28. I had a beet salad - $14. His meal portions were generous, and he was able to share some of the chicken. My beet salad may have included one actual beet, cleverly presented but rather... More

We visited Café Chloe three times while in San Diego we liked it so much. The first night we got there for happy hour. I had the macaroni and cheese with pancetta and my husband had the mussels. Both dishes were delish and at happy hour you could not beat the price. The waiter told us they had the

Café Chloe is a petite French café near the Gas Lamp area but it is a bit off the beaten track so not so flashy and trashyJ. The food is so yummie and they have something for all from veggies to fish to beef, etc. My companions loved the spring chicken entrée that was recommended by the waiter.

My wife and I ate here on our first night in San Diego. We highly recommend the happy hour menu. $4 and $5 dishes, all gourmet, just smaller portions, which is perfect. I had the mussels with Spanish chorizo, white white sauce and frites (shoestring fries). My wife had the Mac and cheese with pancetta. Both delicious and beautifully plated... More

This is a very cute little French bistro in San Diego with a very limited menu to match. There are only seven entrees on the menu. One of them was rabbit stew...no thanks. I ordered the duck, which I usually love. But this was a duck leg, which looked and tasted very much like a turkey leg. It was not... More

My wife and I wanted something light to eat so we walked around a found this cafe 2 blocks from our hotel. It was the night of the Rolling Stones concert so they were playing Stones music inside the restaurant which we liked. We had 2 appetizers which we both liked, one was the pomme frites with 3 different dipping... More

A little French place in the Gas Lamp area......open and light. Good service and reasonable selection (for 3 in the afternoon). We had Charcouterie with the perfect selection and a Edna Valley chard the was also perfect. On the down side.....except for a few, the wine prices were way too high for a CALIFORNIA Cafe. I have a hard time... More

From the minute I walked in the door, every employee greeted me and was very engaging. I had the locally wild caught bass and was the best tasting restaraunt prepared fish I have had. It came with some type of greens, which are very hard to prepare and they were scrumptous. I have quinoa routinely at home and again, I've... More
