second time as good as the first

Ate here in November, came back on this trip to SD. Food is outstanding and our server, Nathaniel, was once again wonderful (as was Zach, his assistant). Not full of the ConCen crowd as it's not in the heart of the Gaslamp district.

Had high expectations based on reviews. Sandbass was bland and I left hungry. Crusty French bread would have been great. Would not go back.

This is a great place to have a glass of wine and try some original great food. French influences and a little piece of Europe in San Diego. A little out of the way. Great place to people watch and enjoy some sunshine on game days.

I was SO happy that my business trip to San Diego provided another opportunity to dine at Cafe Chloe!! Delicious food options for a group. And, for me, a few menu changes since my last visit afforded the opportunity to taste yet another scrumptious entree. The wine selection is superb and they do suggest wine pairings, if you want to... Exactly what you would want in a French cafe. Cozy, clean and trendy. Server was knowledgeable and helpful to ensure the perfect meal and experience. Food was perfect and the wines were perfectly matched. Prices were reasonable and I wou say a bargain based on the quality Highly recommended

I happened upon this place by pure accident, and I'm so glad I did! This is a cute little cafe with the friendliest service I've ever encountered. Thanks to Nate and Paul's service, a quick stop for 1 drink turned into hours here, spending as much time socializing with my group, as with the waitstaff. I adored this place and... More

We called for a reservation the same day for our party of 10. They were able to accommodate our request with an 8:30 seating. We ordered the tartar, fois gras, risotto, meats and cheeses, fish of the day, steak with fries, duck confit basically one of each item on the menu. The tartar was fantastic! The fois gras was prepared... More

I was truly amazed at the mussels. Delicious broth perfectly cooked mussels ample generous serving. The bass were excellent as well. My only complaint was the excessive noise. I will go again for sure. Worthy of your visit.

I like the two dog statues that bookend the entrance of this French-inspired cafe. The atmosphere is cozy and modern and the service is friendly. While an obvious hit with locals (Best of Awards) and I imagine tourists this wasn't a hot spot for us. There's nothing wrong with the place or the food...it's just not our preference. Too frou-frou... More
