A friend and I were looking for someplace a little removed from the main drag of the Gaslamp Quarter. Hotel Andaz recommended it. Just a few blocks away. Reminded me of a neighborhood bistro in a much larger city (NY, Paris, London), not too big, nice buzz, but quiet enough to talk without raising voice. We had a table in... More

I was just in town for a business conference and spent 3 nights at the Indigo Hotel. Café Chloe was nearby and I ended up dining there 3 times. Service was pretty good, the food was great and overall, it was a wonderful experience in a downtown plagued by mediocre everything. Of note was the cafe latte, the fresh pomegranate... More

I visited Cafe Chloe at the recommendation of a nearby hair salon, and that was my good fortune. This tiny French bistro is just on the outskirts of the Gaslamp Quarter, on a fairly quiet corner. I sat outside to take advantage of the lovely sunny weather for a late lunch. The brunch menu, which is served all day, is... More

We were visiting San Diego for five days and this was on my list for Monday evening. After our experience Monday we decided to come back Tuesday too! The food was very fresh. On Monday my wife and I ordered Trout Amandine with haricot vert and salmon with roasted corn and sunchokes, both were perfectly cooked. The soup and the... More

3 of us had a lovely dining experience . The host was congenial and the ambience was that of a pretty and warm Paris bistro. The waitress was delightful and the chef quite accommodating since two out of three diners needed gluten-free food. Steak frites was the main course for all of us with interesting and unusual vegetables. My charcuterie... More

Superb food. We discovered this on our first day and were very reluctant to go anywhere else for the week we were there. It is a small unpretentiously friendly place with good service and (a) darn good chef(s). The food was perfectly cooked and very fresh. Towards the end of our week a new pastry chef started and we had... More

I decided to try out Cafe Chloe for a bruch during a recent business trip to San Diego. It seemed like a good idea as: - I love Paris - I try to eat local/organic whenever possible To keep it short: - Food: lavender lemonade was nice, although a bit too sweet for me, poached eggs were OK, although one... This place is a welcome surprise. Great food and staff at this place. Brunch type selections cooked to perfection . We also had the Mac and cheese that was one of the best I have ever had . A different , you cannot go wrong with any of the selections .

3 1/2 stars. Wife and I finally made it to Cafe Chloe for a date night during Restaurant Week. We were seated at the bar and ordered the $35 prix fixe menu. And then we waited, and waited and waited. Finally after about 45 minutes or so, the server realized something was wrong and discovered that our order had gotten... More
