Excellent seafood, vegan options, too.

We needed to accommodate a large group that included seafood lovers, vegetarians and vegans. The Fishery turned out to be perfect for us. The staff were flexible and inventive, knew their menu and were able to answer questions. Atmosphere was relaxed at 8 pm when we arrived for our reservation. Seafood dishes were all very good; in particular, The Macadamia... More

Tonight was our second visit to The Fishery. We stopped in spontaneously and had the choice of seating outside or at the bar. So happy we sat at the bar! James was our server and was delightful, knowledgeable, and even surprised us! The Chef makes very personal, seasonal food & wine selections and prepares the food with wonderfully balanced flavors.... More

Dined there tonight. Halibut was raw in the middle. Our waitress was not very accommodating . The price was way too much for the quality of the food and experience .

Haven't eaten in for year. Decided to tonight, by accident. I don't usual feel it as a welcoming venue but tonight hit the spot. Great corner table by the window. Efficient service. Nice wine suggestion. Oysters fresh and briny. Ceasar with fresh anchovy, red onion and crispy croutons...flowed flawlessly and I'm picky about Ceasar salads. Clam liquid nicely done. Great... More

This was recommended to us by a colleague who grew up in La Jolla, we would never have otherwise found it but we're happy we did. The food was very good, if not memorable , all was super fresh and well prepared. Not especially hip, but fine for us after a long day of golf. We would return.

First they are a wholesale seafood provider so their seafood couldn't be fresher. The setting of the restaurant is contemporary and relaxed highlighted by warm and knowledgable wait and bar staff. You can get the standard seafood dishes, many with a creative twist or you can choose from things like tuna belly that only a wholesaler could collect enough servings... More

I have been casing this place out for quite some time and wanted to give it a try for lunch. We stopped by right at opening time, so we were one of the first ones there. The atmosphere is very nice and the décor within the restaurant is very nice. The sell fresh fish to the public right from the... More

We dined here with friends for dinner, and truly enjoyed our evening. From the appetizers through the salads and into the entrees, we found the food to be fresh and flavorful. [They also serve sushi, but we did not partake.] We also felt that our waitress really knew her stuff, and she was fabulous with wine choices and suggestions throughout... More

My wife and I both got the Tuesday dinner special which is local food and fish. I got the wine pairing with it. We had a great time! Food very good, service fast and efficient, and the wine was good too. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Great seafood in San Diego, which is by an ocean. Should be easy right? Not so. Fresh fish, should be easy being that it is said this place also sells fish. That said, it is all up to the kitchen to prepare a great meal. Here the preparation seems to be old school and a bit heavy handed. While it... More
