Very Authentic Italian Food

In the heart of Little Italy, Buon Appetito has a good menu of authentic Italian food. Having lived in Italy, American restaurants usually overlook the pasta then to add insult to injury, they over sauce it. Not here. It's done the way their Italian Mamas cooked it. The service is prompt and... read more

A hororific experience after years of excellent food. What has happened to this establishment? The only thing that has gone up is the cost. $75 w tip and 2 glasses of wine for a pasta lunch. Ouch! Tasteless dishes with no identification as Italian. The calamari was old and fishy, the "fresh homemade" gnoochi was just plain bland and the... More

If you've ever entered a restaurant where the maitre 'd of "person who decides where and if, you sit" looks at you and decides your not worthy to sit at that nice table by the window that's open, you'll know what I mean by 'pretentious'. When I arrived at the restaurant with my two kids, I spotted a table for... More

I was caught a bit off-guard with this one. I did not expect stellar Italian food in San Diego, more of a decent knock-off. This place was great. Service was great, friendly, prompt, and helpful. Food was amazing - pasta tasted fresh, the meat sauce was delicious, and the wine selection was spot on and was far and away from... More

We like to seat at the small and cozy bar and chat with the bartender. I ordered gnocchi and a Cesar salad. Yummi! It feels like you are in Italy.

We love this quaint wonderful Italian restaurant. It is so consistent, everything is wonderful. Seating outside is great when the weather permits which is most time of the year in S.D. The employees are so friendly and always a great help in deciding on what is the favorites, just depending on what you are in the mood for. However, the... More

Everyone told us that we couldn't leave San Diego without going to this eatery. So glad we listened. Our meals were delicious ( pork shank with risotto and gnocchi ) and plentiful and the staff so helpful with food selections. We ate outside which was a treat since we were here from wintery Pittsburgh and the Sunday Farm Market made... More

I love this dish!!! I have tried the Ossobuco in many good Italian restraurants. This was truly one of the best!!! Generous portions. The staff was very helpful and wonderful. I was dining alone attending a Conference. The staff made me feel very comfortable. I will go back!!

I always come here every time I get to San Diego, it is just that good. Authentic, outstanding food no matter what you order, top-of-the line service, and excellent cellar, and a fun and engaging atmosphere. Perfect for a romantic night out or a place to take your business colleagues, goo soon, you won't be disappointed!
