So delicious! We went for an early dinner as we had toured the USS Midway all afternoon. (Very interesting BTW). So, the restaurant is very simple inside AND they having lovely alfresco dining too. We opted for inside as it was rather chilly. Our waiter was exceptional and the only slight criticism is that we did sit a bit too... More

Located in "Little Italy" section of San Diego, Buon Appetito proved to be an excellent choice for a taste of Italy. Although a bit noisy, the quality of the food and service more than made up for the noise. The service was excellent while the quality of the food and amount provided was way more than expected for the price.... More

My husband and I have been lazily learning Italian with the dream of moving there someday so it was super fun to be able to practice on the hostess and server. The food was great. We started with the burrata and carpaccio. Both were very, very good. We split the Oso Bucco main dish which was more than both of... More

The foods is awesome. So we went 2 times during our stay in San Diego. First time, I ate their mushroom risotto and the second time, I ate their osso buco and it was amazingly good. Also, you have the possibility to taste some wines before being a bottle to make sure you will like it. Two minor things: -... More

We decided to have our last meal in San Diego at this restaurant because of its reviews. The service was average, the decor is simple, but the food makes up for both. We'll come back and eat here again the next time we're craving for Italian Food and in the area.

We live a few blocks away, and this is our favorite restaurant in Little Italy. If it's too crowded or you want a more casual environment, go next door to Sogno di Vigno, which is a sister restaurant that serves both menus. Food is always excellent, but the borsettini is the pinnacle. They're little purses of pasta filled with either... More

What a great restaurant. The food is so good, the waitstaff so friendly and accommodating . I feel like a regular even though I only go a few times a year. We had the aubergine soup and lasagna. It was nicely prepared! We will definitely be returning for it.

The Cioppino was spectacular, and so was the dessert we had (the Chocolate Mousse cake), but the Lasagna was just OK. Almost perfect with the food, and our server was excellent, however one thing that I found a little bit strange was that some staff were bickering within earshot of the patrons, which I found distracted me from my meal... I arrived at Buon Appetito solo on a Friday night without a reservation. I was seated at the bar. The bartender served me when he wasn't being yelled at by customers (who seemed unnecessarily rude to the poor guy.) I started with a glass of Tempranillo - an amazing, smooth red wine you almost never see on menus. Gold star.... More
