Picture perfect Italian

My favorite spot in Little Italy. The ambiance is lovely...just like the cafés we ate at in Florence and Venice. This is the real deal. We loved the Clams and Linguine (had all sorts of other things also, like clams and scallops) and Osso Bucco. Enjoyed the most wonderful bottle of Italian wine... read more

The food was ok but not great. Lots of tables in a small area and very noisy. Wait staff very attentive and knowledgeable.

My husband and I are visiting San Diego for a week. We picked this restaurant for my husband's birthday dinner because he loves Italian food and the reviews on here were great. It was an awesome choice because everything was great. We got the Insalata Tricolore, fried calamari, and beef stuffed manicotti (a special my husband picked so I am... More

San Diego's Little Italy has a lot of choices so I read through several reviews before making a reservation at Buon Appetito. Turns out, it was the right call. I'm a frequent visitor to Italy and to Italian Restaurants abroad that try to replicate the incredible tastes of that fantastic country. These guy do a great job and everyone in... More

Went there with the wife, picked it because of reviews and we were in town. We got right in with no reservations. The lady greeting was very present. The restaurant was nice inside. Our food was very good, we both had a pasta dish and they were excellent. The bread and marinara that came with the meal was good. Our... More

We were looking for a restaurant in Little Italy and saw this restaurant via trip advisor Boy are we glad we visited! We did not have a reservation so we were prepared to wait for a table. The place was busy however our wait was minimal for a table. We were seated inside and while the restaurant is a little... More

We come to the Hotel del every summer and spend most of our time out on the island but my whole family insists we come into town and eat here. It is incredible. So authentic that when I asked our waitress if they had pizza for the kids she gave me a dirty look (in a sweet way of course)!!... More

This restaurant is managed by the same people who run Sogno de Vino next door, which means that it's possible to order things on Sogno's menu that don't appear on the Buon Apetito menu. This is important because no one should leave San Diego without getting the Baked Goat Cheese plate with pesto that is on Sogno's menu. OK, I'll... More

All of the dinner dishes were very very very good. Great authentic Italian. Service was wonderful. A little loud because everything is pretty close together, but that does not take away from the quality food. Finish dinner off with the homemade Tiramisu- I swear by it!

Many of my friends refuse to dine with me in Italian restaurants in the US for various reasons, mostly because I have lived in Italy for many years... Here the waiters were Italian, and indulged me in my now somewhat rusty Italian. The choices were authentic, we had the calamari as antipasto, followed by two different pasta dishes - one... More
