During my trip to San Diego I was fortunate enough to stay at the beautiful Tower23 hotel. We chose to to have breakfast at Kono's EVERY morning except one during the entire length of our stay. It was a very short walk from our hotel and they have the BEST breakfast potatoes I've had anywhere. The portions are gigantic and... More

Located right on the boardwalk on Pacific Beach. Along the boardwalk there are many fish houses, grills and hamburger joints but this place is consistently crowded from breakfast till late afternoon. They have large portions and their breakfast fare could/should be divided (extra plate $0.75). Delicious and inexpensive. A great start for the day!

Went here because they posted good reviews on it on yelp. Pancakes, eggs, bacon, and service was good. The OJ was so bad we threw all 3 of them out, tasted like it was made from bad oranges or something. Their KONO's potato (hash brown alternative) also is kind of strange, its full of onions and some other vegetables. If... More

If the line is past the door, don't wait but if it's right at the door or inside, then do it! I had the potatoes (you cannot beat them!) and a pancake (really light and fluffy and delicious!). I ordered a Mexican hot chocolate at their coffee cart which is outside just behind Konos and we took our breakfast out... More

We stopped by for a late breakfast when the crowd wasn't very big. We each got a burrito and was shocked at the size of the things. It was delicious and piping hot but it was so big neither one of us could finish it. It's the best $5.95 deal on the beach. Cut in half it was great for... More

We were staying at the Crystal Pier Cottages and had Kono's breakfast both mornings. For $8 two of us shared a Big Breakfast #1 and had a tiny bit left over. It has eggs, potatoes, 2 pancakes and an English muffin. The best thing is we got to take it back to our patio and not have to stand and... More

We don't drink coffee, so food only. Great location right outside the pier. I had read prior reviews that said you could share a breakfast burrito, but I am always wary of that because my husband isn't into sharing his food and usually wants a full meal. I was wrong - it was huge. Reminded me of my college nights... More

Best Breakfast in town. Buy coffee just outside and bring it with you into the restaurant. The Breakfast Rolls with eggs, bacon, cheese and tomatoes is Excellent.

We have been going to Kono's for over 20 years. It has never faltered, not even a little. The food is classic beach fare and is absolutely delicious. Portions are large and come out just as you order. We go to San Diego every summer and New Years and the most amazing thing is that the person behind the order... More
