Can't slam the place for being popular. The line doesn't always move as fast as previous reviewers say. We got there at 10a on a Saturday, and expected to wait. Sure enough, there was a line stretching around the building. Everyone is pretty jovial and friendly in line, and there is plenty of people watching to do while you wait.... More

I made a list from tripadvisor of places to eat while on vacation in San Diego. Kono's Cafe was one of them based on the ratings. Our family and I went there for lunch after my granddaughters surf lessons. We all ordered different hamburgers from the menu, and they we gooood! The beef was freshly ground and cooked just right. They... More

This little surf shack turns out great food in a fun location. We eat breakfast here every time we are in San Diego. The staff is friendly, the patios overlook the ocean, the food is tasty. However, they are stingy with the jam, so if you like more than a thin smear on your toast, do ask for an extra... More

Delicious food for a fabulous price!! Long line served quickly. Short wait for our great breakfast. Ate on the deck overlooking the ocean. So glad we ate at Kono's!

This place is great. Don't let the line deter you. It moves quickly. Nothing fancy. Order at the counter. Paper plates. Plastic silverware. But, the food is great and the portions are ample. Some of the best scrambled eggs and french toast I've ever had. And the location, eating outside by the beach makes it taste even better. Prices are... More

Stumbled upon this place during a recent trip to Pacific Beach. We arrived within 10 minutes of it's opening on a Sunday morning and there was already a line out the door to order. After a few minutes in line we ordered breakfast from a very friendly gentleman who answered questions with a smile. They have two great patios in... More

Best place, hands down, to get a huge breakfast at low prices. Open at 7am till 2pm only daily, get there early ! I recommend between 7-8am or be prepared to wait in line.. The line moves quickly thou, and we always get ours to go. Small deck for seating or indoor tables are available. Their breakfast burritos are HUGE!... More

The line can get long mid-morning, especially on the weekends. Have someone in your party grab a coffee outside and go save a table on the ocean front deck. Huge portions, consider sharing!

We went to Kono's about 5 minutes before they opened and there was already a line forming. Luckily the line went fast and the food came out quickly. The portions are huge and everything was delicious! I love the fact that they put cheese on their potatoes and scrambled eggs because everything is better with cheese. Definitely grab a menu... More
