Burgers!

If you like burgers, hang by here after a visit to Ocean Beach. Get there early to avoid a queue or grab take out if you want. The menu is small but the burgers are fresh and tasty with more than enough to fill you up. The onion rings are also worth a menu. I don't think this is worth... read more

Firstly the restaurant itself is awesome, the walls are decorated with license plates and the place has a cool vibe. The burgers were simple but so delicious! Would recommend a visit anytime!

Really looked forward to stopping into Hodad's Ocean Beach because of the Triple D review. Great little location. Ordered the BLUE Jay Burger and large onion rings. Burger was very overstuffed, but really lacked flavor in the meat. The condiments actually overtook the burger. The onion rings on the other hand, we're awsome. The large is too large for one... We were lucky to have a short wait on a Wednesday night. We went because of DDD and they didn't disappoint. We each had a juicy hamburger and split onion rings. The portion was so big we couldn't finish them even though they were the best onion rings I've eaten. It's worth the trip and the wait!

Not the best seating but a great "alternative" atmosphere. There is usually a line but its best to get it to go because you can walk right up to the cash register and order and bypass everyone wanting to sit down. Yes, its worth it!

This place is a dive. dirty floors, greasy walls and good burgers! there are two lines - as usual - the eat in line, and the take out line. the eat in line was so long, we just went for take out and ate at the car! The burgers were great, but not that special. Its a popular joint, simple... More

Had to come to Hodad's when visiting San Diego. A MUST experience. My date tried two times before but the wait was 2 hours. So when we had the opportunity to go there during the late afternoon; we jumped at the chance. We scored a booth right after being greeted by "Hey Guys". This is a CASUAL place to eat,... More

Hodads has got to be one of the best burger joints around! hands down you must try the bacon cheeseburger, 1/2 order of frings and the neopolaton shake! yum. the wait was about 25 minutes give or take, better if there are two in your party then it goes really fast. customer service is top notch, very friendly and fast... In these days when everything feels like just another cookie-cutter corporate copy and you could be in any number of population centers, Hodad's is a truly unique experience. Go hungry, dress casual, and enjoy.

This is one place I always want to make sure to stop by when I'm in the San Diego area! I grew up coming here with my parents and can't wait to go back! Fantastic food and good service but always crazy busy! Totally worth the wait! Awesome malt shakes as well.
