This classic beach, burger joint is worth the hype. Guy Fieri crowned this place best burger joint in the country and it is well deserved. The decor is laid back California and they will give you a deal on a burger if you take them a cool license plate. Get there a little early to avoid the line and come... More

There's nothing better than a classic cheeseburger. A juicy beef patty, slice of melted cheese and my fave...the traditional "works": a burger oozing mayo, mustard, ketchup, lettuce, thick sliced onion and tomato. Simply delicious! Wedge cut fries and huge sized onion rings complemented the yummy, sloppy mess that made up our late lunch. Food was spot on and service was... More

Come TA - there's no way this is the 7th best restaurant in San Diego. We went to Hodads' late one night and didn't wait long for a table. We both had burgers, which were really good (but it's a burger) and great service. It's neat inside with 1000's of license plates from around the country and even a little... More

So loud and dirty we placed are burger orders to go and went to the beach to enjoy. Or not. The "meat" was undercooked and just plain blah! The o-rings overcooked, fries soggy, old oil. Drinks refreshing. Fell far short of my expectations.

Hubby and I ate here twice while on vacation...we both got the guido burger, which was a burger topped with pastrami, swiss, pickles, grilled onions, ketchup and spicy mustard...VERY juicy and VERY delicious...the fries (small potato wedges) and onion rings were delicious as well..great service..good atmosphere...will recommend this place to anyone who going to Sam Diego...just be weary because the... Went to the quintessential Beach Burger Joint!! Fun and great burgers. I don't eat beef-usually-only on special occasions like the 4th of July. So you got to know the Guido Burger was the best if I ate the whole thing. Great service. We ate in the window seat and watched the beach world walk by!! If you are in San... More

Hodad's has probably the best bacon double cheeseburger I've ever had. Head and shoulders over Slater's. It's a little loud inside, but the food is worth it. The wait staff is very attentive and the prices are reasonable.

This is definitely a place to go for burgers. I drove from LA twice just to get this burger even after having In-N-Out burger. I live in the east coast so now you already know how much I love Hodad's burgers. I sure I will go back again for more. I cant wait.
