My wife is a vegetarian, but chose to have lunch here because my parents and I love burgers. She had the Unburger which is a cheese burger without the meat. She chose her cheese and added grilled onions. It was delicious! My burger was awesome, and I loved the onion rings. My family said their burgers were excellent as well.... More

LOVED Hodad's! Remembered seeing it on an episode of Diners, DriveInns, and Dives and decided to give it a try for our first lunch in San Diego. We went about 1:30 pm and got right in to a small table along the wall, however I don't think the entire time we were there that there was more than 1 or... More

We drove out from next to the convention center. Well worth the trip. Ocean Beach was so tiny and fun. The street Hodad's is on was crowded and so was the restaurant. The Cowboys were on the big screen and we had good music. We loved the burger. I couldn't get the whole thing in my mouth. The bun fell... More

Always love this place; very beach town and sixties vibes. We stopped in for a late lunch and were seated immediately at the long shared table. We each got a small burger basket, one with fries and one with onion rings, and shared a chocolate malt. Service was prompt and efficient and the food was great. Good thing we walked... More

This burger joint in Ocean Beach in San Diego has one of the best burgers you can find anywhere. This institution has been a neighborhood staple for many years and for good reason. Unique dive bar vibe with old license plates covering every wall, surf boards hanging from the ceiling, and a line out the door. The prices are reasonable,... More

A great hole in the wall burger spot!!! Funky and very fun! Featured on Diners Drive Ins and Dives. I enjoyed the burger that Guy enjoyed when he had them on his show. Grilled onions, pastrami, pickles and more on this great burger. Ordered with huge wedge fries with crispy coating on them. Also just as tasty. Open 24 hours,... More

This place has the vibes of an old classic dive with the food to prove it. The decor is classic with lots of licence plates from everywhere and creative tables. The food is amazing and for a heavy meal sits really well. The soda is even high quality. The waiter helped us chart a complicated bus route after we paid.... More

I came here on the way to the beach with my friend on our summer trip to California. Sussed it out on Trip Advisor and decided, from the photos of HUGE FOOD, to make it a must-see. I don't think either one of us was disappointed! Our waiter was super fun, our burgers were delicious - particular mention to doing... More

Went for the burgers and they did Not dissapoint! Great Burger! Great fun! Great atmosphere! Everyone should go for at least one burger while in San Diego! We also had the fries and onion rings and they were equally as good! Wash that all down with a beer and you have one heck of a burger spot!

By far one of the best burgers I've ever had without paying $9.00 for a burger. The helping of fries is generous but you have to add it to your order. The shakes?? Out of this world! Show up early before 5:30 pm and avoid the long lines. Other wise be prepared to wait for a half hour or more... More
