Better than 5 stars

Would give this restaurant more than 5 stars if I could! We went here having seen it on television (a Guy Fieri TV cookery programme) and being told time and again by locals that this is the number one burger joint in San Diego. Wow – they were right. We had to queue for around 20 minutes to get... read more

A pretty laid back and open spot to grab a fresh to order burger. Your best bet is to park a little ways away and walk to the spot. If it's not at off peak hours it will be mad packed, but they get people in and out quickly. Service was quick and the The Guido Burger was awesome. You... More

Hodad's is a small place close to the beach, and was pretty busy when we visited. There was a line almost a block long, however, we only waited about 30 minutes to get seated. The crew is very quick to turn tables around and works real hard, so no reason to complain about the wait. The license plates nailed to... More

I recommend going at an off time but expect to wait. It goes fast so just relax and enjoy. The Guido Burger and onion rings are highly recommended. Lots of transients in area but there are some interesting stores to walk your burger off after eating.

Visited with the family. We knew there is always a wait to get in, so the 20 minutes we waited was no big deal. The place is covered in license plates and the air was filled with hits from the 80's. Solid, since I grew up in the 80's. I ordered a double cheeseburger. Let me say that I love... More

Hodad's is a must if you spend time in Ocean Beach. I had a double cheese burger with bacon and it was so big I couldn't put my mouth around it but I managed. There is ALWAYS a line outside the door, but the wait is short. They turn over tables quickly. Our waiter Jordan was AWESOME. He even discounted... More

Hodads is on my must stop list any time we are near Ocean Beach. The combination of "vibe" that everone mentions, and the tasty burgers and onion rings, makes this place stand out from the crowd. Its burgers are not all about the meat but the toppings, as well. Generous piles of remarkably fresh and tasty veggies and condiments turn... More

Definitely worth the wait. The burgers are just like we used to get them wayyyyy back in the day. The onion rings are made on site and fabulous. We go here every time we visit San Diego.

The restaurant was crowded and we had to wait outside like 25 minutes but when you enter, you enjoy what the resaurant decoration wants to make you feel. Its like a surfers burguer place with really nice 80ths music, perfect to go with your family. The food and the milk shakes are a very nice combination. Besides, it is near... More

This is the best burger I've had in my life. Price between 7.50 and 12.50. The onion rings are UNIQUE and fries are also wonderful! The place has awesome decor (stickers, car plates, lights and a nice Volkswagen inside the restaurant) and it's always busy. Come ready to wait in line but believe me the wait is worth it!
