We had dinner at the Oceanaire Seafood Room October 28, 2009. We made reservations a month ahead and were called in advance of our arrival by a friendly reservationist. There was a doctors convention in town and all tables were full. The Hostess was most gracious and gave us a large, round padded booth with lots of room even though... more

Ambience is great - casually elegant; tables widely spaced, Service is attentive, friendly and helpful. I love the background music which emphasizes tuneful jazz and popular classics from the 30's, 40's and 50's. The food is very good. Portions are large, particularly the salads and appetizers. One portion is enough to feed two people. The waiter or waitress will gladly... more

Staff was professional, from coat check to host to waiter. We received our confirmation phone call, very polite and accommodating. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. We enjoyed our table and cocktails. Everything was splendid! more

This is the second Oceanaire I have dined in and, to be honest, I liked the one in Denver much better. We still had a very lovely dinner, but the waiter had a touch of attitude that screamed "Patronizing". The seafood is wonderfully fresh and very well prepared. Beware of the portions of their "sides" as they are absurd. An... more

This place was always a top pick when I lived in San Diego. A real treat. Pricey, but really good nonetheless. Wonderfully prepared seafood selections. Mmm!! Although I never had one there, the word is their steaks rival the prime streak houses in town such as Morton's, which is also a great place. Speaking of Morton's, I prefer it over... more

Yes, the food was absolutely outstanding. But, it's the Oceanaire's management and staff that make the entire evening's event extra-great! From the white formal attire of a cheerful, personable, fun staff who display subtle top-of-the-mark etiquette to the white fluffy luxury hand towels in the restrooms, it is very apparent that the sky is the limit in exceeding the customer's... more

We had a fabulous dinner here on the last night of our trip. The restaurant was packed and once the food arrived it was easy to see why. We started with an assortment of oysters on the shell, warm bread, clam chowder and crab cakes, then ate our way through a seafood tower! The fish was all very very good... more

I used to visit the Ocennaire Restaurant during business visits to Minneapolis. This was the first time I ever tried the San Diego Location. The place was packed on a Saturday night. We made a reservation for 8:30 and unfortunately had to wait for at least 15 minutes before we get the table. However, I am still giving the restaurant... more

I am not even crazy about seafood, but I am sad that the restaurant is 600 miles away and I will only be able to enjoy the food while on a vacation. My halibut was perfect, and my husband's mahi mahi was even better with a tasty sauce. If you are ever in San Diego, give yourself a real treat.... more
