We just returned from a brief business (my wife's, I'm retired) trip to San Diego. We had stayed at the US Grant and generally dined in the Gaslight area and tried the Dakota Grill. I was part of a group of six business colleagues. We were seated quickly and the service was very good. There was something on the menu for a wide spectrum of tastes. The food was very good. more

Dakota has a relaxing atmosphere. You can enjoy a good conversation there. The service is very good and the food is comfortably familiar. The dishes are prepared with care. You won't find greasy fingerprints all over your plate. I've never had a bad meal there and the prices are reasonable for what it is. more
fair food that's overpriced. but then again it seems to be the place for steaks which i didn't have so you should judge for yourself! more
Worth about 3.5 stars, but since I've taken so many people there for business lunches I'll round up to 4. Good food and decent service. Safe bet all palates. more
