Good plain food & decor

This was my target restaurant for the trip, due to the great Trip Advisor reviews. I was a little disappointed. The service was good, tho' our table of 6 had to ask for more bread & butter. The entrees were good, but not what I'd call outstanding. We only had the pasta plates, maybe that's why... read more

After reading reviews here on tripadvisor, this was our choice for the first meal in San Diego. The meal was WONDERFUL. We even met a local chef eating here, who told us this was his "go to" place for Italian food. It is a real family affair, with mom and dad in the kitchen and the younger generation serving out... The outside of this restaurant is deceptive. We sat inside and it was a bit warm but the staff is wonderful and the food is excellent. We met friends there for an early dinner and were the first in the restaurant. The appetizers and salad were very good, but we were particularly pleased with the spallotto. My spouse got hte... Excellent food! Excellent Service! Excellent Evening! We really, really enjoyed ourselves. The portions were generous and the mozzarella was beyond great!

There's a reason why this restaurant is highly rated. It's in a tiny venue, but the food flavor and authenticity is huge! Prices are also reasonable. We enjoyed the caprese salad, and shared the lasagne and one of the specials which was gnocchi in a meat sauce. Large portions, perfectly done. Save room for dessert. We had Profiteroles alla Nutella... More

My wife and I went to Parma for dinner. We made reservations ahead of time on the open table app and we were glad we did. It is a very small place, maybe 10-15 tables max. Was a bit warm inside so we sat outside, the weather was amazing. Servers don't know a ton of english but that just made... More

Our last night in San Diego, we had reservations for Parma Cucina Italiana. We went forewarned, knowing that the outside is unassuming - a plain storefront on a crowded street. Inside, however, was quite different. The décor was pleasant, and we were greeted almost instantly by a gentleman with a noticeable Italian accent. Indeed, we were left with the impression... More

Very small restaurant with poor, store-front ambience. Menu was very limited. My wife and I found restaurant very unappealing. We never ordered or ate but got up and left. Information concerning this establishment seems very misleading.

We made reservations for dinner here and are so glad that we did because we probably would not have been able to get a table! The restaurant is small, but I did not see this as a bad thing. I appreciated being able to have a romantic dinner without a ton of noise. The food was amazing, from the appetizer... More
