The Rei Do Gado is right in the heart of the Gaslamp quarter of SD, there is limited parking outside (valet service offered) but a short walk is the Westfield shopping centre and it's large car park, which is where we left the car. We were brought here by a friend who lives in the SoCal area, he neither had... More

I am a big fan of meats, especially churrasco style (Brazilian barbeque). I have frequented some of the most popular venues such as Texas de Brazil and Fogo do Chao, as well as non-chain eateries such as Brazzaz in downtown Chicago. Rei do Gado in the Gaslamp district in San Diego is as good if not better. The service is... More

I took my wife here for dinner recently and came away with an overall good experience but I'm sorry it wasn't worth $48 per person. Some if the meats were good others were dry and bland a couple were un edible (pork spare rib tips). The salad buffet was ok and no dessert included? We will not return

This was my first try at a Brazilian restaurant and it was well worth the experience. The buffet was high quality with good variety. The meal selection which is brought right to your table and carved to your plate was delicious and very flavourful - prepared in a novel way. Overall, this was a fun way to eat and worth... More

I was able to get in early friday night without a reservation. The beef was excellent. Pass on the pork or sausage. The salad bar and seafood bar was okay at best. The real surprise was the live piano player that kept it classy and upbeat as possible for a place where younstuff your face. I would go again.

My first time at a Brazilian restaurant, so I can only compare apples to oranges. It was my choice to try for my birthday dinner--wanted a memorable and unique eating experience, and did I get it! Went on a weeknight, which is a must if you don't want to fight crowds, noise and parking in the Gaslamp. Found a free... More

Had a quick dinner on my way from the airport. The buffet is to die for, with lost of vegetables and fish as well. Then the meat comes to your table and includes healthy choices such as grilled pineapple. Delicious, one of the best brazilian restaurant you can find on the West coast.

Have eaten in Brazilian steak houses before. We went for a smaller version of the big show. Less meat offerings but salad bar included. Salad bar was outstanding. Fresh and tasty. The egg plant lasagne was wife's favourite. Meat was tasty and plentiful. Only complaint is I ate too much! Servers are excellent as are the carvers. A definite go... More
