Fish tacos and a beer in the sun

Walking distance to my hotel, right on the Marina, quick service, lots of locals - what's not to like?

Just “experiencing” Point Loma Seafood is fun. The fact that the food is terrific is a bonus. Standing away from the high counter and looking over the menu with other patrons, stepping up through the crowd to place your order, hearing your order number called out over the hubbub, taking your food to one of the outdoor tables or up... Having grown up in San Francisco and lived in the Bay Area for over 55 years and now living back east in the Mid Atlantic area, I'm always looking for a good crab meal. So while visiting San Diego recently, I thought I try this place, to get a tsste of sone good Dungesnes crab. I order a fresh crab... More

Overpriced and just fair. Very touristy with busloads of blue hairs waiting in line. Walk 100 yards down the pier and eat at Mitch's. Much better fish and reasonably priced.

What a great seafood place! This is not only a self-service restaurant but also a seafood market. And do they have every kind of seafood imaginable!! You have to go up to the counter and order and then they call you when your order is ready. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The upper deck overlooks the harbor and has... More

We had lunch there Feb. 3, 2015 and were underwhelmed by squid plate with cold fast-food- caliber fries and limp slaw that needed another shot of a good vinegar. My sushi plate was flavorless and tasted like it might have been from day before, not what you expect from a fish market on the wharf in San Diego!

Really enjoyed Point Loma Seafoods. Parking was a bit tricky but we took that as a good sign. Once inside, we found it was easy to order, the staff was nice and there were plenty of places to sit. We had the fish tacos and chowder. The tacos were quite good - really fresh and not overly fishy. The clam... More

Point Loma Seafoods is a bit unusual. You walk in the front and find many different kinds of fish, shell fish, etc. You can order the food to take home and prepare, or they have a menu of fresh fish you can choose from. We had the scallop sandwich, fresh crab and fish and chips. It was all good and... More

Fresh seafood at this casual restaurant, adjacent to the boat docks. Sandwiches were $8.80, but came with no fries or salad. Plates were $12 and were large, with plenty of food. Service was friendly and fast.

We arrived a little too early to take advantage of the whole menu (a half hour before soups and chowders were available). So we chose a tuna-on-sourdough sandwich. Great sandwich and great coffee.
