We'd eaten here before and liked it, so when we returned to San Diego we decided to return. Nothing wrong with the place -- still very busy, still good food -- but the quality seemed to be down a notch, and the prices seemed higher than we remembered them. Okay, so I know inflation exists, and good seafood costs money,... more

Point Loma Seafoods is a San Diego institution. I've been going here for 10 years now and I love it. Is it the cheapest? No, but the food is quality and simply delicious. I enjoy that it is simple, and doesn't try to be overdone. If you like local San Diegan seafood then this is the place. I don't understand... more

Just returned from SD. We always eat at Point Loma Seafoods at least once per trip. We were very disappointed in our lunch. I had the blue crab sandwich and my husband had the fried cod. His cod was pretty ordinary. It looked like a Long John Silver's plate but was $12. My blue crab sandwich was actually just a... more

I have been going to Point Loma Seafoods for 24 years. They have the best crab sandwich on sourdough bread EVER! I love sitting outside overlooking the harbor. more

On a tip from our inn keeper, we visited Point Loma Seafood. We had their seafood taco special- ono tacos. Delicious. The ono was so tender and big chunks made up the taco. We had been enjoying seafood tacos at the Blue Water Grill and just could not decide which place we preferred. It's difficult when the fish is fresh!... more

I was way less than impressed by Point Loma Seafoods! How can this be rated so highly on tripadvisor? There's something fishy going on here! In looking for a clean place to spend a few days I found the Vagabond Inn next door. The thing that sold me on staying there was it's next to this fish market that offered... more

This restaurant was just a few 100 yards from the hotel we were staying at on Shelter Island Drive so after seeing the reviews, we decided to check it out. On entering it was a bit confusing because this is also a fish mongers but staff were very friendly and explained the order process. They only take cash but no... more

The seafood we tried was just OK. None of it was fried & I realize that could have something to do with it too. As an east coast girl, we can get the same or much better seafood at home. On the good side, the market is clean & efficient considering how busy it is. more

This place is just okay. Why? 1 - it's pricey 2 - the portions are small 3 - the clam chowder is very average - nothing to rave about 4 - the little neck clams were not the freshest If you want the real experience, and are in the San Francisco area, go to the Swann Oyster Depot. THE VERY... more

Does Point Loma Seafood need another glowing review? After having lived in SAN for 10 years and visiting for the past 20 years, I satisfied my hunger for a delicious Calamari Sandwich at PLS last week. Somehow, it was the best I had ever had. The meat was succulent! It came with its usual fresh sour dough bread and tartar... more
