Great little Italian place in Gaslamp

On a busy Saturday night we were able to get right in. The braised pork was outstanding as was the lobster ravioli. I thought it was reasonably priced as compared to other Gaslamp restaurants. Our server was excellent as well.

Of all the restaurants we visited during our week in San Diego, it was Panevino that we will remember years from now. We did not have a reservation and yet they managed to squeeze us in despite the convention traffic. We dined outside, on the sidewalk, and the server (who's name I have managed to forget) was absolutely perfect: funny,... More

My wife and I spent the weekend in the Gaslamp district to celebrate my birthday. There are dozens of restaurants in the area so the choices are limitless. We stopped at Panevino and could not have been more pleased. The food was some of the best italian food we have had in quite awhile, and we frequent what we consider... More

We were walking through the Gaslamp area looking for just the right place. There are many to look at, including quite a number of Italian places. We chose this one based upon the TA reviews and are we glad we did. The inside space is intimate and quiet enough for a nice conversation, but there is also outisde seating, with... More

Good location, nice atmosphere, but a little pricey. Had the special veal chop, and asked for a substitute from mashed potatoes to angel hair pasta with olive oil. They did and charged me $10 bucks extra! guest with me had the veal parmigiana which was pretty tough. She did not finish but half of one slice and the waiter only... More

Couldn't fault the food, service or the surroundings. The waiter was superb, knew the menu like he wrote it himself and was able to provide a detailed insight into each dish. I had the rib eye steak which was cooked to absolute perfection; having eaten at some good quality restaurants on our holiday already I have to say that this... More

I came here with my family and was amazed! By far best Italian food I have ever had. Everyone was super friendly and service was great. I was very pleased with the size of the portions and the carbonara pasta I had was to die for! Plus desert was delicious! We had homemade vanilla and chocolate gelato. Would recommend this... More

So, so close to getting everything right, but alas...... We had reservations and were early for the advertised happy hour cocktails. Alas, 'not on a holiday', but no matter. I ordered a glass of Barbera d'Asti and it had been open for a while, it was changed without question, but I noticed that the bottle was marked as a 201,... More

Beautiful setting and nice service. Above average food. I had the sea scallops and caviar. I really liked the dark chocolate mousse for dessert.
