They just remodeled this place. It is very open and the Japanese garden and koi pond make for a great atmosphere. The Sunday brunch had many offerings including an omelette bar and a pasta bar. In addition, there was a cutting station and several fish and meat platters. There was a large selection of cake, cookies and Danish pastry for... More

Both beer & food are good... Tried Ahi tuna, Rib eye and some other things. Try several beer sampler which taste quite nice. Always crowded during lunch and dinner time. Service is good.

In addition to the big selection of premium beers, their burgers were the bomb. They are big and juicy and the toppings were to die for. And, their sweet potato fries were the best.

We are beer nerds, so we had to check out san Diego's Oldest Brewery. We were impressed with all of the beers and the wide variety on the menu. The food was great and our server was very good. Even if you are not a beer nerd, check out Karl Strauss.

Went here for a business dinner. Atmosphere was "garden" style, which was mostly open-air and really neat. Had the asada fries, fish tacos, and a flight of recommended beers. The Mosaic Ale was very different, and fantastic. All of the food was plentiful and delicious. Great spot for any occasion for great beer and food.

Fantastic beer and great burgers. Had one great meal here with a couple of in-house tap beers and their beer burger, so went back for another round the next night. Sports on the tv's above the bar, great atmosphere.

My son and I were looking for spot to eat close tour hotel (the Westin) and we found this gem just down the street. The beer sampler was great and illustrated all the cool things brewers can do with beer these days...and the selection on the menu was impressive as well. I wished I could have eaten more to be... On a recent visit to San Diego, we were introduced to Karl Strauss 4S restaurant. We enjoyed it so much we went again on another evening. Very good food, great service, just a fun place.

Hard to believe that this quiet, attractive restaurant exists in the middle of a technology business park. The outside seating, pond and trees make you forget about work, and the food is as good as the view. The service was also exceptional - they really made an effort to be efficient over lunch. TIP: If you are not sure about... More
