Happy Hour heaven

We had a four beer sampler, two pints and three delicious and very ample appetizers for a total of under $30, taxes included. Sure, if you order after 6 pm and get entrees it will cost you considerably more, but if the full meals are as good as our boneless piripiri wings, lime chili sweet potato... read more

The name might suggest that this beergarden has something in common with a German Biergarten. But it doesn't. It is an American restaurant with a Japanese garden. It has good craft beer, but again not really German style beers. The food is good American food. Overall I liked it very much. But it is not the kind of place you... More

This is a very nicely tucked away place in the heart of the technology hub in San Diego. While they are known for their beer, the food was excellent as well. The surroundings are excellent and the service good.

The beer at Karl Strauss is amazing and they have a great cross section of styles and ABV's. The food is also good and I like the nachos the best. It is very busy most of the time. You can get an $8 growler fill code for any beer on Fridays through Twitter.

We were with a fairly large group, which was seated outside. It was 62 degrees and although there were space heaters, that doesnt do enough to keep you, or the food warm. I ordered the ribeye and frites (fries). The food for everyone else came out, and my fries, but was told "we had a mixup with yours", here are your... More

Great service. Beer is fabulous! Food is interesting and well beyond standard pub grub. Lots of vegetarian choices- including of course the ubiquitous pretzel w cheese sauce.

It's a brewery restaurant. There is a big variety of beer but food is kind of salty. It is really designed to go with beer. Atmosphere and service are both very good.

The service was great. Our waiter was attentive and very friendly and brought us samples of the beer to taste. My husband ordered the Habanero Jack Chicken sandwich which was very good. I had the BBQ Pork which was very flavorful. Portions were large. Glad we got this recommendation from the shuttle driver at our hotel. Definitely worth a return... More

I visited this bar during happy hour and there was a friendly welcome at the entrance and a member of staff patiently explained the offers available during happy hour. The service was friendly and attentive whilst the food was served quickly and was of a good quality. The staff happily offered samples of the beers and some were particularly strong... More

Visited in November, I had the mesquite chicken sandwich with Chilli Lime sweet potato fries. I wish I could have it again right now! Cooked perfectly v v tasty. My husband had the Flat Iron steak which was in a delicious soy and ginger sauce on a bed of mashed potato. He felt there was a bit much sauce on... More
