TEN stars for service. What a lovely place !

We don't know San Diego very well, and have never been in this particular area. So, after settling in at the Marriott Courtyard, we went out for a stroll, and thought that we had stumbled on the San Diego Japanese Friendship Garden. This area, hidden among office buildings, is so lush, tranquil and... read more

We came here last Sunday. The grounds are definitely beautiful. We were very surprised to learn you could only order the brunch buffet. We were simply interested in ordering a couple of small pub food options to accompany our beer. We didn't want a huge brunch.

This is a fantastic place for brunch, especially on Mother's Day! We had a live guitarist and the mimosas and beer flights were flowing! The buffet has a huge selection of omelettes, pasta, breakfast dishes like waffles, pancakes, fresh fruit, bacon, sausage, and even prime rib and turkey breast! The atmosphere is scenic with beautiful landscaping and a lake with... More

So if you're visiting San Diego you're not going out of your way here for beer. There are at least 4 better breweries within 3 miles of here. But most don't have food, and man needs to eat. I've been here a few times and usually the beer is pretty decent, this time I really didn't like what I got... More

This place has a real nice casual atmosphere. A little nicer than a lot of breweries but not fancy. We went on a Friday night. I was busy but not overcrowded. The beers are solid and the food is excellent. The hummus is outstanding. A worthwhile place to go.

This was my first pick to eat in the San Diego area. Hidden in the Mira Mesa business district north of downtown, this brewery/eatery was a treat to visit. The location is sort nondiscript. Tucked away between two office buildings is a wooden fence and a Karl Strauss sign. Behind the fence lies a beautiful Japanese garden, complete with ponds,... More

I always eat here if I am in San Diego. The food is not cheap but the beer selection makes up for it. They brew their own so lots of choice. Stay at the Courtyard Marriott opposite and you do not need to worry about driving. The service is swift but thanks to the background noise it can be difficult... More

Of the many breweries we've visited in the San Diego area, this location is definitely our favorite for the food, atmosphere, & service. They have a great bar area including outdoor dining, & the property is quite scenic for its koi pond, gardens, etc. Just don't come on a Saturday since they are closed for private events (there are other... We've been to this restaurant several times and they never disappoint! The service and food are great. The menu changes regularly and I haven't been unhappy with the quality of the food.

This restaurant quickly became one of my favorites! The scenery is beautiful. It was a Japanese garden previously. It would be great for a date but we were comfortable with our family. The food is amazing. The spicy shrimp and grits was so good! The spice was perfect, don't let the fact that it has hot peppers in it scare... More
