Such a lovely retreat for a quiet beer and a good conversation in the middle of the day and the middle of the week. I have no idea what it might be like during peak hours, but the garden was peaceful and the food were simply excellent on the day that we visited. The beer is also superb, being Karl... More

We were doing an impromptu tour and stumbled on Karl Strauss for a beer. Great atmosphere, amazing bartender, friendly service, good beer, and even took a Growler home. The food looked good but we had just grabbed a late lunch elsewhere. Will go back to check out the food next time we are in town!

$23.99 AYCE and AYCD Mimomas = FOOD COMA Being the cheapass I am, I initially balked at my friends' idea of going to a $24 Brunch. However, considering that a mimosa typically costs $5-10, a brunch plate is usually $10-15, and a coffee is $3, its actually a good value for me since I drank 3 mimosas, ate 3 brunch... More

Food was delicious, beer was good, location was very convenient for us. I think our waitress was training, but she was good. It was very loud when we were there, weren't able to hear people at my table. Food was delicious!

To nourish and energize ourselves for an 1,800-mile bicycle tour from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, to the Mexican border near San Diego, my son and I enjoyed eating lunch and tasting local brews at brew pubs along the route. One of our favorites was the Karl Strauss Brewery & Restaurant in down town San Diego. We arrived early for lunch... More

They had a great selection of freshly made beer - a wide variety - IPAs, Stout, Lager, Oktoberfest, wheat beers, etc. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the Seared Ahi salad was - delicious! Our server was friendly, attentive, and kept the drinks moving!

This place is packed with Qualcomm employees, colloquially referring to it as building K. The beer selection is huge, the appetizers are huge too, and the staff is friendly. What more can you ask?

Tripadvisor has the name of this Karl Strauss restaurant wrong- it is the Karl Strauss Brewery Gardens location and is worlds away from their other properties, all of which are good in their own right but nothing like the Garden! Built into a Japanese zen strolling garden in a hard to find industrial plaza about 20 minutes drive from downtown... More

A friendly place to drink one of their differents beers brewed on the behind the restaurant. The restaurant menu contains some hiden treasures like the cod fish and ship served with a brocoli cole slaw and aaks for their sweet potatoes fries. With an iced cold beer it is great! They are a little bit difficulty to see from the... More
