If you grew up in the 80's and loved Top Gun, you should go at least once. The hot wings were amazing, the bbq pork and ribs were decent. Sit outside at night and you will have a great view of the surrounding area...it's not as dirty as you would think. more

I love the movie Top Gun and when it was advertised that this place was in the movie, I wanted to see it. Unfortunately the food isn't worth coming back for. Cool joint where a scene from Top Gun was filmed, but the food was just average. Fun atmosphere. It looked like other were drinking and hanging out, which we didn't do. more

Great place for beer and appetizers. This place is a "sleazy" bar known for the piano scene from Top Gun. Barbeque style is a smokey meat smothered in a simple BBQ sauce. more

So my friends and I were really excited to dine where Goose and Maverick once sang. We got there. Sat down. Many problems. First, the address they list on their website is incorrect. This is a terrible place to go for lunch. The place is basically a dump that is famous only because it was in the film "Top Gun." You can forgive a lot in terms of the facility itself if the BBQ is good, but what if the BBQ isn't good? You should go somewhere else. Well, it aint good here,... more

Don't go! We went because it was in DK's Top 10 San Diego list. What were they thinking!! The ribs were dry and not tasty. The place is a dump in the middle of some of the most beautiful real estate in the world. It is not a family place and there is no kid food. It's a dumpy bar!!... more

If you like your bbq ribs drenched in sauce, then go to Phil's BBQ. I'm not putting down Phil's BBQ, but if you like your ribs smokey, meaty, and plentiful.. then this is the place to be.
