Excellent food, excellent service, excellent atmosphere, enjoy. The restaurant is easy to get to and there is plenty of parking. Everyone helps to make your experience very enjoyable.

You'd think I would learn. I have come back to this place at least 4 times always hoping things might have improved. They never have. This is probably my last time. The food has never been more than average, and several times downright poor. The value isn't there either. Prices are above average especially for the quality of food and... More

Wife and I visited the French Market Grill in Rancho Bernardo last weekend for first time. We were casual and did not know what to expect, except a friend had recommended it. Menu offered something for everyone; fish, chicken, salad, beef, and of course, onion soup. Wine selection was good also. I had the lamb chops, 4 meaty chops cooked... More

I thought our visit last March was our last. But it was xmas week and my Dad wanted to go for there for dinner. First it was almost deserted on a Saturday night. Never more than 4 or 5 tables filled. He asked for the table in front of the fireplace when he made the reservation a week ahead, there... More

The restaurant has been searching for a chef. Our visit this pat Sunday indicates they have found a keeper. I had frog legs done to perfection.( you should call to make sure they have them) My wife's Salmon according to her was the best she has ever had.And she has had Salmon often in this country and abroad.Great meal and... I'm rating the French Market Grille (FMG) only POOR and not terrible just because I had a pleasant experience when I was invited here for the first time last Sept 2006. But on subsequent visits, FMG was on a decline. For one, the menu hasn't change so much since 2006. In one visit, we were served very lukewarm coffee. The... More

Attending a funeral/memorial in Rancho Bernardo and booked a table at the French Market Grille. One of our family members is blind and very hard of hearing-he can't hear anything if the ambient noise is very loud. I requested a table away from other noise and the restaurant staff was very accommodating even to reducing the volume of their music... More

Having enjoyed delicious French food here for over a decade and previously reviewed this restaurant very favorably, time has come to take notice of the changes the French Market Grill has undergone. Still owned by its French founder, his restaurant now serves anything but French food. Successive kitchen staff changes over the past eighteen months have set the kitchen adrift.... More

A delightful lunch with a special friend. It is one of our favorite restaurants and we have never been disappointed. I had the scallops and they were excellent.

We were this this weekend for a birthday dinner for my Dad. It is his favorite place. We have eaten there a number of times. But this time, service was so off base we were disappointed. I had the fabulous liver and onions. My wife had the scallops, and the were great. So, you know the food is excellent. But... More
