I have never been to Italy but If I had this is what I imagine it would taste like. The restaurant is in the back of what looks like a deli/market up front. Very good food and not very expensive. I had the lasagna and my girlfriend had antipasta (huge). The only thing was it was a warm day outside... More

A must when visiting San Diego is a evening night out in the Little Italy district of town. And of course, along with that is finding good Italian food. There is no shortage of pizza pies, pasta shops and restaurants .. Come hungry! Great atmosphere, fantastic food and plenty for leftovers. We double dated it with four adults.. Beers, and... More

This is our second time here, although since our first dining experience here we've visited another Filippi's in Kearney Mesa. The food here cannot be beat. We will come here every visit to San Diego. Yes, there is a line...always a line. But so very worth the wait and it moves quickly. Don't let the Italian Deli just inside the... More

Don't let a line out the door discourage you. It moves FAST & you'll be seated and served quickly. There's a reason they've been here since 1950. SUCH a refreshing change from over-priced tourist traps all over downtown San Diego. Little Italy is plenty crowded, but this place has a parking lot (if it's not full). Our waitress was efficient... My wife and ate at this restaurant in the heart of Little Italy while on a vacation in San Diego. Don't get fooled by the line up! It moves quickly as there are many many tables inside. We aited less than 10 minutes for a table. Server was friendly and helpful, drinks were cold, and food was very good. We... More

We can't go to San Diego without at least one trip to Filippi's in Little Italy. I know that there are lots of good restaurants in the area, but we can't get past Filippi's front door. You enter through a traditional Italian deli stocked to the ceiling with pastas, oils, wine, and other Italian treats. There is a meat counter... More

If you go to San Diego you must go to Little Italy and eat at Filippi's. You may have to wait but, it is well worth it. The food and wine are just perfect.

Having been a customer at Filippi's for several years, our visit this evening was anything less than stellar. My wife and I drove from our Las Vegas home to San Diego to celebrate our anniversary. Of course we knew that Filippi's would be the place for us to have our Anniversary dinner and our annual toast to another great year.... More

We were just walking by in little Italy when we saw this line coming out of this mini grocery store to our surprise there's a restaurant in the back so we waited in line to see what the buzz was . The food is really good I ordered the ravioli and lasagna combo with sausage a must have when you... More

We were getting tired of an Italian restaurant chain we have been visiting for years now and decided to give Filippi's a try. All we can say is WOW! We are very happy and can't wait to return! They have great service and delicious food! It is neat to enter the store first and walk through to enter the restaurant.... More
