Excellent Meal at Filippi's!

We just love Filippi's pizza! The flavors are just perfect in each bite starting with the perfect amount of tomato sauce, you can taste the fennel in the sausage and the crust is really yummy. Eating in the restaurant, you will find the traditional red and white checkered, vinyl table cloths, an wait staff that is friendly and very efficient... More

This was one of the places on our list of must visit restaurants while vacationing in San Diego. All the reviews we read were true; there was a line out the door and it moved fast. We were told 20 minutes for a table and were seated in 10. Food was outstanding. Huge portions of Lasagna, Pizza with thick crust... More

Best on the west coast. Don't let the wait in the store in front of the restaurant deter you. It is so worth the wait.

The only thing that keeps this from being 5 star is the bathrooms, which could use a bit of attention. The pizza was great! This place is the kind of local place with character that makes for a memorable experience. Located in the heart of Little Italy, it's a family place, where feeding the family won't break the bank.

There are several Filippi's in town. This one is right in the middle of the Little Italy section of San Diego. Terrific ambiance. Busy and often a little loud, this is a very lively place. Little Italy is a very walkable area before or after a meal. The salads and pizza are terrific. All the pizza is terrific. The pastas... More

There always seems to be a line to get in (you have to wait in the small aisle of the deli for a table), but is so worth it. When you finally get called to a table, you enter a cute little restaurant in the back, where they cook almost in front of you. The service is excellent (they hustle).... More

Filippi's Pizza has such an addictive and unique mouth-watering flavor. The dough/crust is so luscious, you could eat the crust alone and be satisfied. They load each pizza with an abundance of deliciously rich and chewy mozarella. A cheese pizza is awesome but if toppings ordered they are buried underneath the thick sumptuous layer of cheese. This is no skimpy... More

I have eaten there 2x now, most recently in May 2015. The first visit was July 2014, Pretty much a similar experience the 2nd time around. The Pizza is a doughy greasy mess, waaaayy too much cheese. The Lasagna was pretty good, the atmosphere dark and dated. The rolls they served were ok. If you want OK comfort food, with... More
