I have been to this bar/restaurant several times through the years to eat prior to seeing a show at the theatre next door. They are inconsistent with service and food quality. The last year or so the service and food has gone down hill. I went for my last time two weeks ago and had the worst experience of all.... More

Just like pretty much everyone else, I came here for a drink before seeing a play next door. It was pretty busy but we were able to snag a seat at the bar. I was very, very impressed with how hard the bartenders work, man do those guys hustle. They have to do all the drinks and also help with... More

My first impression of Johnny Brown's is that it's a quaint, old, but iconic downtown hangout, right out of an Ernest Borgnine movie in the 1940's. At first, the joint is charming but the charm fades when we see a long line to order food. Tables seem all taken but we found one by the door. My companion stands in... More

We eat here whenever we go to Broadway-San Diego and have always enjoyed it. The food it reasonable, the service a bit slow as it gets very busy, but they are attentive. It is clearly a bar and grill atmostphere.

Had lunch here with a colleague - slow to order the food - only one register open and youget all these young unshaven clowns wanting to taste each beer before they buy - at lunch no less - at least they had Borrussia Dortmund beating Real Madrid on the TV - food was blah - had the taco salad -... Our service from Lindsay went from bad to worse- it was almost a comedy of errors. The list of mistakes is too long to detail but here's a summary: she took our drink order then came back 5 minutes later asking to take our drink order again--she forgot she did it the first time. Lindsay delivered my drink but left... More

We ate here last night only because of location, right next to the Civic Center. It was one of the worst places in the last year that we've been to! They decorate it like it's an Irish pub but they don't serve Guinness. They have many pulltabs and signs from many famous imported beers but don't serve it, and what... More
