Best dinner at the Park!

Hubby and I came out to try this place for our date night, AMAZING! We ate outside with beautiful dim lighting. You see the planes coming in one at a time but never loud noises. The atmosphere and ambiance is beautiful. The food was very rich and perfect portion size. We ordered the after 8pm meal... read more

The Prado is a pretty little restaurant in the heart of Balboa Park, with nice outdoor seating, and a ladies-who-lunch fancy menu. It's they only game in the park, unless you want to eat the cafeteria-quality food at the various museums, so we went there. I was with a well-behaved but rather picky 7-year-old. We eat out a lot, so... More

It's a little pricey for what you get(the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars), but sitting outside is wonderful. I say go for happy hour, have a moscow mule and a few appetizers. Try the deviled eggs...fantastic!

When visiting Balboa Park, the Prado is a very convenient place to have lunch. My granddaughter's salmon was perfectly cooked, and my turkey and cranberry sandwich was to die for. My only complaint was that it was too large, and I happily took home the remainder. French fries and salad equally generous and very good. And it's in a beautiful... More

You do need reservations as this is a popular restaurant. They are owned the Cohen restaurant group (google them up and go to their other restaurants which are just as good-- my 2nd favorite is Indigo Grill). It is pricey but worth it-- it's located in one of the beautiful buidings in Balboa Park. A great evening could be made... More

The Prado in Balboa Park is a wonderful find if you want a relaxed respite from the crowds, sun, and fast food of the park or zoo. Service was good; the menu, food, and even wine offerings were especially appreciated, given this restaurant's location in the park. The eclectic decor of the interior was visually interesting. We were very happy... More

This restaurant has excellent food. They make unique sauces to put on traditional food. The salads have unique vegetables in them. I had the turkey sandwich and it had the most wonderful cranberry sauce on it. The homemade foccasia bread was to die for, ditto the broccoli mandarin salad. Everything seems to be homemade and fresh. The sandwich with salad... More

If I am in Balboa park this is the only place I would pick for lunch or dinner. Service is good. Food was good. Not too many items to choose from, but everything was fresh made and good quality. We didn't like kids meals. Ordered macaroni with butter and cheese. It was too greasy , kids didn't eat even half... More

No finer place to dine before the theater in Balboa Park. Our party of six had reservations two hours prior to the Festival Theatre curtain and were seated promptly, perfect timing for a leisurely meal and short stroll to the theater complex. The Pradorita Margarita (shaken tableside) was delicious on a hot summer evening. The online menu hasn't been updated... More

We visited San Diego's Balboa park to attend a music venue at the Spreckles Organ Pavilion, and we decided to have lunch at the nearby restaurant - Prado at Balboa Park. The Prado has seating both inside or outside in a beautiful patio setting. We opted for the outdoor patio seating to enjoy the great weather and scenery of the... More
