Impressive

Excellent restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Delicious food and cocktails! We sat next to the fountain outside.

We have been to San Diego for two vacations and both times we ate here. Great staff, view, food, and drinks. Even on hot days , it is comfortable to sit outside due to the large area of shade!

With a great menu and full bar, this is "the" place in Balboa Park and one of the better restaurants in San Diego. Things we liked? Excellent sangria. Good beer list. Great chorizo beans. Bratwurst burger. Things that could have been better? Slow service. Not a disaster, as the staff was pleasant and attentive. It seemed the meals just came... More

If you are at Balboa Park for the day, this is the place to eat, but go early as it is very popular. Everything I've had there was special and excellent, such as a caramel apple martini and the best chicken tortilla soup ever! I like to take my small dog because dogs are allowed on one patio side and... More

I read a recent review that said service was terrible at Prado. I can't say that was my experience. As I looked around the restaurant, I saw nothing but bustling servers getting the job done. As for my own server, I had the best!! Sandra was not only attentive but she had the engaging personality that makes an outing that... More

Spending a lovely day at Balboa Park with friends we chose to eat at the Prado.Three out of four diners very pleased with the food however being seniors the portions were very large and I would advise small salads or share a sandwich. We would've preferred to eat outside, but full and too long a wait so dined in.The surroundings wre lovely,but... Numerous times I have dined here prior to theatre and lunches with out of town guests. I keep hoping the next time it will improve but it does not. Service is spotty at best; depends on the server and the location of where you are seated (bar, outdoors, inside). For example my lettuce was wilted. This is a place that... More

This is truly a beautiful and romantic restaurant in the heart of Balboa Park. It has a beautiful garden and the inside is very tastefully decorated. The service is fast and the food is top notch, with the only caveat that they could have more vegetarian options. They serve you this delicious hummus and crackers, both homemade. It's a bit... This was a great value! We combined this with a show at the Old Globe. My paella was okay--good, not great, but the fact that we were able to park and not be stressed out before the show makes this place a 10. Good service. I loved the humus. The fella was VERY happy with his pork dish. It was... More

There for lunch. Upscale restaraunt but casual attire permitted. Great food & great service! All dishes passing by looked wonderful! Prices reflect quality so I have to say it was definitely worth it.
