Wonderful oasis in Balboa Park!

Wonderful, quiet oasis in Balboa Park. We tried to eat at a couple outdoor kiosks and snack cafes but were hot and tired of the long lines, crowds and noise. We decided to eat at The Prado instead and, wow, it was the best decision all day! Definitely worth the little extra in cost. The food was... read more

The setting was lovely right inside Balboa Park. We sat outside in order to enjoy perfect San Diego weather. The service was attentive and professional. My husband and I shared a salad which was split in the kitchen for us. The salad was refreshing and we were each given a generous portion. For an entree we shared the Lobster with... More

Once you are done walking through and enjoying various museums in Balboa park, please visit this restaurant. You will find top quality service, food, and views. We sat next to you fountain outside overlooking the the gardens below. The kobe burger was exceptional. Forget the prices and go for the experience of saying you were here.

My wife and I stopped in for lunch while exploring Balboa. My wife had the grilled fish taco which she wasn't too crazy about, pretty bland, if not for the tartare sauce there would have been no flavor. I had the trio of grilled skewers, beef, chicken and shrimp. Really good with a different sauce with each. With a nice... More

Perfect spot to rest up midday after a tour of the Nat History Museum and to rejuvenate before visiting the zoo. "Sangria Sunday" was a great deal - pitcher for $12 instead of the usual $17. Quite enough to drink for 2 people! Salmon was cooked perfectly- still just a touch of pink in the middle. Staff were friendly and... More

Since we were going to the OLD Globe Theater in Balboa Park, we decided to take advantage of the Prado. It is in within walking distance of the Old Globe. I went online and discovered that they had a special menu for $40 with a complimentary bottle of wine. The menu was limited, but the food was phenomenal. I had... More

Great place to start out a nice afternoon/ evening. Beautiful garden setting. Knowledgeable staff. Wonderful wine and cocktails. Parking can sometimes be tough if there is a event happening. Enjoy lunch or dinner and then walk it off in lovely balboa park

We were touring Balboa Park and decided to try The Prado. The decor was tasteful, fun and bright and it felt like an extension of the surrounding museums. It is in the same building with the the visitor center across the courtyard. Food was delicious - great cucumber salad and fish tacos. Wait staff was very friendly. Eating there will complete... We made reservations at this restaurant prior to attending a stage show at The Old Globe - a showing of Kiss Me Kate. We were promptly seated at the patio under an umbrella and we gave our drinks order while we perused the menu. Great menu selection. Up front, we ordered the beet salad, a lettuce BLT wedge, Caesar salad,... More

My wife and I visited The Prado at Balboa Park last night for our Wedding Anniversary, and had a great time. We went on Wine Wednesday where you can take your own bottle of wine with no corkage fee. Chris our server was so nice and friendly throughout our 2 hour Happy Hour stay from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. Chris... More
