In the morning we toured the San Diego Zoo then walked through Balboa Park to Prado. We made online reservations and were seated in short order. Do ask for a table on the terrace. We ordered Cobb salad with shrimp and my hubby ordered homemade tomato soup and ham/cheese panini. Both entrees were fresh and tasty. We were in and... More

During our visit to Balboa Park in San Diego, we decided to eat lunch here as the place look like a first-class restaurant. We had to wait about 15 minutes for a table to eat outside which was the estimated time given by the hostess. Once we were seated we waited for a while to be served, and then had... More

Waited over 40 minutes to get in. Once in and seated took over 1 hour to get our food. When I asked the waitress to check on our order she came back and said it was because we ordered our cheeseburger well done????? Also ordered the tortilla soup . Do not recommend that at all. No favor and taste to... More

We spent the day at the zoo with our little cuties and luckily I had reservations at the Prado in advance. This place was PACKED! I guess there was something going on in the area because the place was deserted after 8:30pm. Our kids enjoyed their food. My husband & I really enjoyed our entrees. Plus sitting on the patio... The restaurant is located in beautiful Balboa Park in one of their old historic buildings. Diffucult to find and more so, difficult to park as the valet was full. The restaurant is nicely decorated and very eclectic. The food was nice and so was the service. It was a saturday night and very busy in the park with weddings and... More

Random choice while at Balboa Park and what a good choice for lunch. The Market Salad was probably one of the top five salads I've ever had. Grilled chicken BLT with a chilled glass of Benziger Chard was perfect. Wife had turkey BLT cheeseburger. Outdoor seating wasn't crowded. Service was attentive, water before we asked, they happily split the salad... More

The restaurant has a bar area with an excellent selection, if you are short on time. Appetizers, wine and scrumptious desserts. I often go there before attending an event or play. When you have the time, the selections in the restaurant are excellent and unique. The tortilla soup is the best. Have been to this restaurant and bar area many... More

Great food in a unique location. We mostly come here for lunch when visiting Balboa Park and keep returning. Service is efficient and friendly, they have many guests and know how to manage a huge crowd. Whenever we have had the rare problem here, management always stepped in to make sure we were totally satisfied. Food tastes great, very child... More

Friendly staff, great food, imaginative menu, sit outdoors or in, it's a welcome respite after spending the day roaming Balboa Park! We've eaten here several times and have never been disappointed. Love their salads for lunch and their main entrees at dinner. We enjoy dining with friends or for special occasions. Reservations recommended!
