This is an amazingly good restaurant, especially for such an exquisite terrace setting. In such places, food is usually secondary, but not here. This place is not to be missed, especially in summer. We had appetizers which were larger than usual. Crab cakes A++ Seemed like there was no filler, just succulent, flavorful crabmeat Chicken, steak, and prawn on a... more

We had dinner before seeing "Cyrano". Although you can eat outside we like the inside decor, with orange lighting and a sense of a Spanish Hacienda. The tortilla soup was scrumptous, the baby leaf salad was fine, and the braised short ribs with bleu cheese brulee was delicious. They had a excellent Calif Merlot for under $7. Their prices are... more

I was told this is a high end restaurant, but our waitress gave me the feeling she was paid on commission with the way she was trying to push items on us. We started off with an appetizer of “crispy calamari fries”. The calamari was barely lukewarm and served on a half-hearted cabbage slaw and slathered in a too sweet... more

We have been faithful supporters of the Prado for about six years now. To be honest, we are huge fans of the Cohn Group restaurants and frequent Island Prime and The Prado often. We went to The Prado last weekend for my husband's 30th birthday. The food was outstanding and our waitress was attentive and did a GREAT job!! I... more

You would think that any eatery in a park would be overpriced and mediocre but Prado at Balboa Park proves that wrong. Food is exemplary as is the service and atmosphere. Sit outside if it's warm enough. A lovely setting and creative cuisine. Delightful for lunch as well as dinner and while not cheap it's a bargain considering the fine... more

We visit Balboa Park at least once a month and always time our trips to include dining at The Prado during Happy Hour. The calamari in a tangy, sweet peanut sauce is terrific, especially paired with a big pile of hot shoestring potatoes and a cold beer or big glass of house red. Makes my mouth water just thinking about... more

We ate dinner at the Prado on July 18. We were hot and tired after a full day at Balboa Park. The decor is casual, colorful and stylish. They have a lovely outdoor patio with umbrellas and a spanish-style fountain. Due to humidity that day, we opted for air conditioned indoor seating with a view of the fountain. All the... more
