Late night dinner

We stopped in for a bite to eat when we got into town around nine o clock. They had live music playing and basketball playoffs on the tv. The food came in large portions. I had the fish and chips. The fish pieces were huge but didn't have a whole lot of flavor. The chips were much better seasoned... read more

We stopped by this Irish Pub while in town for business, unfortunately we didn't have time to enjoy the live music but anyplace with good food, good beer, and the décor that this place has makes my list! As others have stated, the interior of this pub gives it a very authentic feel and after a few Guiness you might... More

I stopped by this little pub for a beer and appetizer so I could see the authentic Irish items. It was interesting but the staff was not well versed on where it came from or what things were. It seemed very historical and the wait staff should be trained as docents. Price is affordable but I was there for happy... More

Thank you for your feedback! We're surprised that the staff did not seem well-versed on our menu items, as we usually receive very high marks for our staff. That being said, we're glad that you had an authentic experience and enjoyed the food, and hope to see you again soon! More

This is a great old rustic Irish pub. After a long day of sightseeing I needed a beer and this place was great with great service. I do suggest you go here while in downtown San Diego.

Recently we hosted a toasting party for family and guests attending our Son's wedding. If I could rate the place a 100 I would. The food was amazing -- fish and chips that made us all go back for seconds. Shepherds pie that was buttery, creamy and satisfying. Vegetable Boxty that can't be described it just has to be tried.... If you enjoy all that is Ireland then you have to visit The Field. Found this place on Yelp as it was close to my hotel. Happy Hour is all-day and includes 20 oz perfect pours of Guinness for $5.50. Dark and woody interior. Bar is amazing. Staff was perfect, both from Ireland. Fully engaged and proud to talk about... More

The menu maybe small but the servings are large! The kitchen really knows what they're doing and everything tastes amazing. The bar is well stocked, the servers are friendly, knowledgeable and attentive without being intrusive. The atmosphere and ambiance is exactly what a good pub should be; homey, inviting and comfortable with the distinct possibility of getting a bit raucous.

Had the Irish sampler and a few pints of Smithwick's, Guinness and Magner's pear cider. An excellent celebration for St Patrick's Day. We are impressed that so many people came out to see rate the day - at 1:00 pm in the afternoon. sláinte mhaith! Darcy and Karen

This place is a classic pub atmosphere and a fun place to hang out. They have a large number of good Irish Whiskeys and good Irish food. Even on a slow night when other places were half empty, this joint was packed! That says it all ...
