Sushi Supreme in the land of Sushi

Well this is as good of sushi can get. Fresh, flavorful, reasonable pricing, nice room and easy to understand the high marks. Little bit tight in a c-store parking lot but don't be fooled it is a home run. Be prepared for crowds, it is popular.

Perfection. I've been here 4 times. Everything is amazing every time! Salmon belly sashimi melts in your mouth Chutoro sashimi Ebi "live" shrimp Snapper sushi Uni hand roll Tamago (not as sweet as most). Great Sake selection. I've only sat at the sushi bar, and I've never ordered a cut roll there. The sushi chefs are passionate, fun, and great.... More

If you are up to trading a $100 (or more) for some of the freshest and best prepared raw fish in SD, this is the place. Non-descript locale that is always packed - after many, many years--gives a clue. Uni is the star, but three or more toro choices also great. Only bargain is the wine list which forgoes the... More

I had a dinner with three of my business colleagues. I heard from my friend that this restaurant offers tasty sushi even for us Japanese, and it was true. Sushi and Sashimi were very tasty and, especially, I was surprised at big sea urchin in Sashimi, exceeding the standard size in Japan. After having Sashimi, we could ask the restaurant... More

Had an enjoyable meal here and certainly interesting and tasty sushi. The big problem i had with this place was the quantity of food and the price. I left hungry and our bill was over $100 per head. Restaurant is quite nice inside considering its just in an arrany of shops. Not for me this one i'm afraid.

In a word: Wow. I've had some great sushi on the west coast and this rivals the best in San Francisco at Aka Sushi. You must make reservations well in advance (I made mine 2 months earlier). Do not be fooled by the strip mall and 7-Eleven adjacent to this wonderful shop - well-decorated and clean. Wait staff is efficient... More

Sushi Ota is our favourite sushi place in San Diego and we went for lunch. It was surprisingly not that crowded at 11:30. The food is good as usual. Their Unagi don is one of the best in town and sushi is fresh.

I cannot imagine who exactly came up with the idea to limit a customers time at the table to 75 minutes or even worse who thought it was an good enough idea to actually put into practice?! Stop taking reservations because you suck at doing that too and make it first come, first served. You will have a waiting list... More
