We lived in San Diego for 9 years and Phil's was a regular favorite of mine. When my Marine husband returned from Iraq the first place he wanted to go was Phil's. Delicious BBQ, reasonable prices. I go for the baby back ribs and chickless and then add on a beef bone sampler... delish! more

Visited San Diego last weekend and had heard about this place....we did have to wait about 30 minutes to get in on the Sunday nite but it was well worth - the ribs were amazing...sauce excellent and the chicken very good as well. The staff was very pleasant. Definitely recommend this place and the prices were very reasonable IMHO> more

What a pleasant surprise! I expected good food based on the ratings here, but the large portions at moderate prices were a surprise, and the large and very clean facility was also unexpected. I'll return whenever I'm again in San Diego. more

This has the best BBQ in San Diego. Great sauce and relatively cheap. No where else u can find in SD a real USA BBQ like at PHil's. more

We found this place by chance, but I most say that my hubby and I were really happy that we eat there… We eat at Phil’s on a Friday around 2:00pm, so we didn’t have to wait… The restaurant has great ambience, the staff is very nice/polite and you gotta love the TV in the bar area! So-So...but went there during a Laker Preseason at sports arena and saw Phil Jackson and Tyron Lue....that made it pretty cool. more
